Bruno Mars: Grenade Meaning
Grenade Lyrics
That's just how you live, oh
Take, take, take it all,
But you never give
Should have known you was trouble from the first kiss, Had your eyes wide open -
Why were they open?
Gave you all I had
And you tossed it in the...

#1 top rated interpretation:First of all in the song we understand that yes he loves this woman enormously. That he is willing to risk his life just for her. But the problem is that she does not like him as much as he likes her. In the video we see him pulling a piano behind him. we can use this as an example of the Bible. When Jesus carried his cross, but even deeper like: sin itself. Because this woman was playing with him, the piano was heavy to wear and full of regret. But he kept pulling it anyway. Whether we believe it or not. The last scene of the video when he is in front of the train with the piano, symbolizes Jesus, seconds before dying on the cross. Despite the fact that he knows that she does not like it. He keep loving her and is willing to sacrifice his life if he can for her.

#2 top rated interpretation:I've read through a few of the interpretations, and from what I've seen, 99% are about how the man loves a woman and would do anything for her, but she does not think the same way. But another possibility is that they both loved each other before, but the man became too obsessed that the woman started to shuffle away from him. So basically, the reason for his depression could be either the man's obsession, or the fact that the woman dislikes the man.

#3 top rated interpretation:I think this song is about a guy who would do anything, give anything, and would do absolutely everything to keep his girlfriend safe. However, that wasn't enough for her. Even thou he's broken-hearted he would still do anything for her and she knows that. P.S. The piano he's dragging in the music video is the same one in the music video for "Just the Way you Are!!!"

I think the song means that he would do anything no matter what like the lyrics " I'd catch a grenade for ya, Throw my hand on a blade for ya".
He would risk everything for her even if she hates him cause he likes her and would want to risk everything to get her love.

For me, Grenade by Bruno Mars is about being willing to risk everything for someone who barely wants anything to do with you. Their relationship is purely one-sided. What Bruno feels toward whoever he's writing this song about is very intense, and I can definitely relate to that. It's extremely frustrating when you'd do anything for someone and they won't even give you their love.

Bruno demonstrates the level of his affection for the lady by stating that he would be prepared to take risk and endure pain to protect her from suffering (i.e. catch a grenade). Once caught one would either attempt throw the grenade away or throw oneself on top of it, so that ones body absorbed the impact of the explosion and the shrapnel thus protecting people in the immediate vicinity. On the face of it this is an admirable sentiment and indicates his true love to the extent that he would sacrifice himself to protect the person he loves.
However this progresses on to Bruno suggesting he would be prepared to be shot in the head or jump in front of a train to demonstrate his love. In in that situation it's harder to see how that could benefit his loved one other than she wouldn't have to listen to him droning on any more. Maybe quite traumatic and might make her late for work and / or requiring a trip to the dry cleaners.
Even so I suppose it is a demonstration of the depth of his feelings of love that if she wanted him to be shot in the head then he would go though with it. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, maybe its a bodyguard type thing - throwing himself in the path of the speeding bullet or saving her from the approaching train. All the same "Jump in front of a train for you" does sound like an act of self sacrifice at her request rather than a rescue attempt.
What baffles me is that having announced his willingness to annihilate himself in order to protect her from any danger or just to satisfy her whim he is then disappointed that she is not also willing to undergo the same fate.
For gods sake Bruno get a grip. Maybe it's you she needs protecting from.

This song is about a guy who loves this girl so much that he would do absolutely anything for her like, sacrifice his life for a girl who doesn’t even like him back.
-
A guy loves this girl so much that he would do almost anything just to see her smile. But he knows deep down that this girl would never do the same for him
-
I think Bruno loves this girl so much he would die for her. She never loved him though

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

I think this song was about told us of a man that very love a woman and the woman just made him gave up with all of his acts that he did ...... And all of around him just humiliate him because of his "gave up" of that woman that he loved .....
Sorry for my english, i'm an Indonesian -
I think this song is about a guy who did everything, gave everything, and would do anything for his girlfriend. However it wasn't enough for her, so she ran off with another man. His heart is shattered, but he would still do anything her.

A music video was released on November 19, 2010, directed by NABIL.[27] It involves Mars's efforts to sing to a woman he loves after dragging an upright piano with a rope tied to it through Los Angeles.[3][28][29] He wears a suit and encounters a gang and a pit bull along the way.[28][30] When he reaches the woman's house and finds out she is with another man, he drags himself and the piano in front of a train. As the train approaches Bruno, the video cuts to black. Scenes also feature the singer singing in a dark bedroom, looking out of a rainy window.[30]
In a behind-the-scenes video, Mars explained, "The concept of the video is my struggle, to tell this girl I'd do anything for her, so I'm going as far as dragging a piano to get to her just so I can sing my heart out."[ -
This song frustrates me. Why is this guy willing to kill himself for a girl that clearly doesn't love him?

soldiers give their life for the love for their country, but what does the government do for them, their wife/husband and children while they are deployed or killed in action. What does the government do for soldiers after mental and physical mutilation...
Not only the government, but we owe these brave Americans our lives and the best we can give them, so we can sleep and live in peace, security, freedom.
How about the millions the politicians waste in their campaigning, etc. -
=) =) =) This song iz about Bruno and his love for a girl,he will do anything for this girl. A line in the song goes:
"I would catch a grande for ya,
jump in front of a train for ya"
So he is saying that he loves this girl so much that he will kill,or put himself in danger for the girl he loves...BUT the girl doesnt feel the same way and ends up cheating on him!!!! =) =) =)
