Bruno Mars: It Will Rain Meaning
Song Released: 2011
It Will Rain Lyrics
Leave some morphine at my door
'Cause it would take a whole lot of medication
To realize what we used to have,
We don't have it anymore.
There's no religion that could save me
No matter how long my knees are on...

#1 top rated interpretation:This is a story about how Bruno Mars and his girlfriend are going through hard times in their relationship. Bruno is trying all he can to get her to take him back. He goes on to explain how different he would be without her.

#2 top rated interpretation:he'll never be good enough for her. so if one day she decides to leave him, it will break his heart to the point of depression. "it will rain" doesn't literally mean tears. have you ever been heartbroken? even if it's sunny outside and flowers are blooming, if you are depressed and heartbroken, trust me it'll feel like it's raining because your mind isn't focus on the good things in life when you're more focus on the F'd up part. there's no sunshine when she's gone..

#3 top rated interpretation:I think the song is about, Bruno Mars telling the girl to take her back. And telling the girl how much he's suffering and dying inside without the girl in his life. (It descibes it on the 1st verse of the song)
And in the chorus, he is saying "I won't be complete without you.", "I need you.", "I miss you." or else I'll be very sad and it will feel like it's rainning everyday. (It descibes more on the chorus of the song.)
The 2nd verse is why they broke up (probably) or her parents don't approve of him. (that's why it says "I'll never be your mother's favourite, your daddy can't even look me in the eye.") And surprisingly he agrees with the parents about him, ("If I was in there shoes, I'll be doing the same thing, saying "There goes my little girl, walking through that trouble-some guy.") but then he says "But there just afraid of something they won't understand, but 'little darling' watch me change their minds." what he means is he thinks that the parents are afraid that the daughter is dating 'a bad guy that will break her heart.'But he is saying that's not true, and I'll change their minds for who they think I am, into something good. And when he says "I'll try, I'll try, I'll try, to pick up these broken pieces until I'm bleeding, if that will make you mine." he's saying I'll try really hard and try to fix everything I made, if that can make you mine again.
(Then the chorus)
The bridge of the song goes ("Don't you say, goodbye (2x) I'll pick up these broken pieces till I'm bleeding if that will make it right.") he begging to her saying "Don't go, baby please, I'll try my best just to make things right again."
(Then back to the chorus)
And that's it, hoped this helped. I can relate to this song because I'm the girl in the song and my ex wants me back SO badly, that he showed me this song, explaining how he feels. And my parents and brother doesn't like him, and he's trying EVERYTHING just to talk to them. -
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

Yes hes singing about Nessie the break up
-
I think it means that like the clouds if the Girl doesn't take him back It will rain(He will Cry all day everyday)
-
The meanin of this song is about a guy telling the girl she loves how much she means to him. Even though her parents don't approve of him, he's saying he could go all the way as to changing their minds and make them see the type of person he realy is not the bad guy they perceive. This guy is saying if he could ever break up with this girl, there won't be any joy left for him in the world. She is realy begging her to stay with him, because of his undying love for him that He would leave on medication if they could ever break up.

Bruno Mars wrote this song about a previous past relationship with his ex he used to be with name Chanel Malvar that got tired of the same difficulties and left him. So for the last time, It's NOT about Jessica Caban nor "When I was your man", DO YOUR RESEARCH!
-
This song is about Bruno's ex girlfriend Chanel Malvar!
-
I think the song is about a boy who is in love with a girl. He need her or he will be nothing, but the girls parents don't approve of him.
-
I think what the song actually means is....
well he says " If you walk away everyday it will rain" i think it means if you walk away everyday he will cry. -
it would take a whole lot of medication
To realize what we used to have,
We don't have it anymore.
this doesnt make sense. its a double negative. -
This song is about someone with a girlfriend who wants to break up, but the guy doesn't want to. He will do anything to not let this happen, and if she finally does break up, everyday he would cry.

The song It Will Rain is about a guy comparing the sadness he would be forced to endure if the one he loves abandons him to how the weather would change to rainy and depressing. -KA

Over all, this song is for his girl. He’s trying to let her know how much he loves her by telling her what his life would be like if he ever loses her. He uses the metaphor of the ‘morphine’ to let her know that he would be hurt very bad that he will need a very strong medicine to overcome his pain if she ever leaves him. The metaphor he used when he said ‘there’s no religion that could save me, no matter how long my knees are on the floor’ lets us know that it would be impossible for him to be happy again without her love. It also tells her to take notice of everything he has done just to keep her with him. The chorus pretty much explains itself. It means that everything in his life would be gray, with no color, if she were to leave him. It also says that he will cry for her leaving him. Next, he says that her parents don’t recognize him as part of the family, or so you could say. But ironically, he also says that if he was going through a similar situation, he would act the same way. Because I think that every parent out there once in their life feels like the person their child loves it is not the right one for them. They say they are ‘troublesome’, just like he said. But then he says that what’s really happening with her parents is that they don’t seem to understand their love; that they don’t know how those two are feeling. “They think that you don't have the right kind of tools for having their daughter as your girlfriend. Simply, you don't meet their expectations either.”- Joseph Mario Medillo. But he has that hope, that confidence, that he can change their minds and make them realize that he is worth their daughter. Then when he says “Don’t just say goodbye”, he’s trying to let her know that she shouldn’t give up on him, that he deserves a second chance.

The song to me...means ...Loving someone so much..that if and when they leave..you rather die than live in this world alone without them..And if they left..a piece of your heart/soul will go along with them.
Clouds-Rain ...You cry when you're not with the person..
--Maybe I am wrong..but, that is what I took from the song. I love it and I have been listening to it..on repeat. -
the song is like telling that special someone who u care about alot that if they ever left you then you would rather die because they mean so much. i love this song & i personally know how it feels to care bout someone so much that if they left you could just die

Well okay. First I'd like to point out the irony of using this song for Breaking Dawn. When it comes to actually listening to the lyrics, and thinking of the story of the Twilight Saga, well hm. IT'S ALWAYS RAINING IN FORKS! But anyway on to the point. This song is basically saying that the guy, in this case Jake, is going to be followed by that storm cloud of lost love if Bella leaves him while she goes to be with Edward. Personally this movie is going to bring me to tears-I know all too well what it's like to watch the one I love walk away with someone new.
