Cold Cold Cold Lyrics

Doctor look into my eyes
I've been breathing air but there's no sign of life
Doctor the problem's in my chest
My heart feels cold as ice but it's anybody's guess
Doctor can you help me cause I don't feel right
Better make it fast before I...

This song explains a cold dead feeling in the person's heart. They feel like there is nothing left for them and are seeking help. They feel as if they aren't, however, and are starting do doubt seeking it. "Darker in the day than the dead of night" suggests a mask or a facade of some sort put on to cover this saddness/depression.

This song is about someone struggling with depression and feeling suicidal. The term cold cold cold as expressed in the song is used to refer to someone who is dead. It used to show how they feel "cold as ice" as they feel dead on the inside and also what the will become. The person in mention is reaching out for help going to a doctor before "it's too late". Even though they are physically healthy "I've been breathing air but there's no sign of life" they are mentally disturbed. For them this is a last call for help "Better make it fast before I change my mind". He also goes to a counselor further supporting the idea of being depressed. In addition the line about the "sweet nurse" refers to his past troubles that have lead him to this point most likely being relationships that only ended in pain. And finally in one of the last verses of the song it refers to his life flashing before his eyes "My life before me like a flash in the night" and describes him embracing it with open arms "With my arms open wide".
