Coldplay: Fix You Meaning
Song Released: 2005
Fix You Lyrics
Fix You
When you try your best but you don't succeed
When you get what you want but not what you need
When you feel so tired but you can't sleep
Stuck in reverse
And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose...

And realise that HIV is a real problem in the world... I'm not poor or unpriviliged... It happens so quick... And all anyone ever tells u is they'll try and fix me... This song is about jail. for those who did time, know they poison you in jail. It attacks you're bones. I can get in depth about how every single word correlates, but I don't feel like explaining

I think that a song like this has no "Correct" meaning. Our interpretation of a song is based on our own life experiences, which are very personal to each and every one of us. I believe it's our experiences through life, that our opinions, interpretations, etc.. are based upon, as it's the only thing we have to do so. It's all we know. So everyone is going to have his/her own take on a song, as I think it should be. To me this song made me think of my first experience with death which was when I lost my mom and it was my amazing husband who helped me through that very sad and difficult time. He made an unbearable situation, bearable. 2 years later, my husband passed. He was only 40 years old. This time, the people I thought would be there to help me through my worst nightmare, weren't there. They could have been, but they weren't. Maybe they didn't know how. But that added a lot more pain. I didn't think I could hurt any worse than I already did and still be alive but I discovered I could and I did. I was going through this pretty much alone. So, now when I hear this song, I once again, hear my husband talking me through another unbearable situation. But he can't fix the part "When you're to in love to let it go". This one has been nearly impossible to fix and it still isn't. The tears still stream down my face. He is irreplaceable. This was my experience and this is my interpretation.

I am clueless than anyone of you because I'm quite young and I have not experienced any of my family member's death, or great depression or disappointment.
But I think experience is important but not the greatest factors of an intertpretation.
I can understand the author's sadness of his father-in-law's death, and his willingness to try to fix the heart of his wife.
Sometimes, this world is full of hope and love. This IS what is supporting the human race.

I think it could be someone telling another person that whatever happens to that person, whatever hardships or losses they endure (whoever that "person" may be to you) that the speaker will be there for that person and will fix that person, healing them emotionally.

My son has autism and before he was diagnosed (at 2 and a half) was hitting all the milestones of "regular" development. He soon started losing his language, then his social interaction, and now, nearly 5 years old, still cannot speak or play with other children (and adults for that matter) in a "normal" way. Medical insurance does not cover many of the treatments that our son requires and we are more than in debt because of it. This song speaks of hope and a love from a mother and father for healing and a better life. We will and are doing everything we possibly can are fighting to "fix" our son.

Read comments and agree it may be in regards to the fathers passing.
On a different note, I used to rock my daughter to sleep to this song and really interpreted it differently in a more positive light. With little family and being a single mother it was a scary time but hearing, "Lights will guide you home, And ignite your bones, I will try to fix you." was soothing.
I secretly hoped that to my daughter it may be understood that regardless of what she went through I would be there in the end and the lights would guide her home. -
I think the true intention of the song was for his daughter and his devotion to her life's ups and downs. He had just had his first child daughter ' apple ' when the song came me out.

To me this song is really beautiful it can fit any situation because the words can be interpreted into your life to me they show how I used to feel when my life fell apart for three years ago and the loss of my best friend goddaughter also fits this song "when you lose something you can't replace" and the song shows how people can fix u and how u can fix yourself it shows u that there is hope and that there is salvation but you have to go through things to get there it seems like a sad song but at the end "lights will guide u home and ignite your bones" the ending does represent some sort of hope and that your heart will be fixed this sadness that you may be experiencing won't last forever it also slightly shows a link to god and how ur relationship is broken with him but it can be fixed and thongs will change.

i think the interpretations about the virginity stuff is absolutely ridiculous and cheap, this song is more noble and have precious meanings,it deals with the pain that any human may endure during his life, and it touched my heart deeply and made me cry 'cause i felt as if it's talking to me directly. coldplay are just amazing. thank you chris

I think they wrote it after Gwyneth's father passed away.
I love this song it makes me cry and so did some of the interpretation's.
BEST SONG EVER -
Fix You
When you try your best but you don't succeed
When you get what you want but not what you need
When you feel so tired but you can't sleep
Stuck in reverse
And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can't replace
When you love someone but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
And high up above or down below
When you're too in love to let it go
But if you never try you'll never know
Just what you're worth
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
I will try to fix you
Tears stream down your face
When you lose something you cannot replace
Tears stream down your face
And I
whoo owoo wo..aa a a a aaa
Tears stream down your face
I promise you I will learn from my mistakes
Tears stream down your face
And I
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you. -
When you try your best, but you don't succeed
When you get what you want, but not what you need
When you feel so tired, but you can't sleep

Just what you're worth
Lights will guide you home

And I will try to fix you
Tears stream down your face
When you lose something you cannot replace
Tears stream down your face
And I . . .
Tears stream down your face
I promise you I will learn from my mistakes
Tears stream down your face
And I . . .
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
