Daughtry: Breakdown Meaning
Breakdown Lyrics
Read it off one sentence at a time
I'm tired of all the lines, convictions and your lies
What right do you have to point at me?

The Bible is a book with many interpretations. It is the book that people have "beaten" Chris Daughty with: "open up the book you beat me with again." they recite lines and quote versus, insisting that they're interpretation is the correct one, that they are the only people that can be right. "Breakdown" is about holding onto your own interpretation of faith and the Bible (or any other religious book). Daughty sings that people will "see what [they] want to see and try to justify." But to anyone that tries to force their beliefs down on him, Daughtry says, "you cannot save me." Don't give up on your love of faith, don't give into the views of others. Hold firmly your own beliefs.
