Start of Something Good Lyrics

You never know when you're gonna meet someone
And your whole wide world, in a moment, comes undone
You're just walking around then suddenly
Everything that you thought that you knew about love is gone
You find out it's all been wrong
And all...

First of all, Chad Kroeger of Nickelback helped to write some of the lyrics to songs on this album. I don't know for sure if wrote on this song, but I can here his influence. This song is so lyrically similar to Nickelback's song "Don't Ever Let it End."

Anyway, it's about that special someone that shows up just out of nowhere and it's just love at first sight. Daughtry sings about life having its "ups and downs" and that it doesn't matter what you're going through, "you don't wanna get in the way when it's working out." He says that this might end up like it should, meaning that this person might become the love of your life. It is crucial to remember though that he does say its gonna take some time; that's the reality of love, it isn't instantaneous as certain movies would have us believe. I don't mean to say that love at first sight doesn't exist, but that it takes time to build the relationship.

The absolute most important thing in this song though is that Daughtry says that you've just got to say what you feel, be honest with yourself and hope to God it doesn't scare him or her away.
