Ed Sheeran: Thinking Out Loud Meaning
Song Released: 2014
Thinking Out Loud Lyrics
Ive been running away for so long
I try to put on a face and cover my heart
But Im needing it now so bad
I dont know how I feel
Maybe Im mad or maybe Im proud
Cant find the truth, cant speak...
-
The song is not his reality, "Thinking out Loud"
It is his hope for the future.
People "fall" or is it "fool" in Love ???? -
I think it means how his legs don't work like they used to.
-
Starting with the title, we know that he is going to be singing about what he thinks, we all have a deep mind so knowing that we can only assume that this song is going to be deep and meaningful. He says "your soul is forever ever green" letting us know that this woman is a very lively person, someone who loves life. He also humbles himself, singing about when he gets old and his memory fades and his hand cant play the guitar the same way and when the new generation of pop culture activist come around, will they still remember his name? here he is looking at the future with his lover, stating "I know you will still love me the same". Not hoping, not wishing but knowing that she will still love him the same as when he was 23! LOVE it can either last you a lifetime or it won't.
-
Ed has created the most unusual ballad cementing his true love for her. Even it has the science part of number 70 in it it is truly symbolic. Nothing like this has been created since the Beatles made "when I am 64" Fantastic work Ed, please make more of such songs
-
Infinite love!
-
I think he is trying to tell how he fell in love and he see's a future with this woman "I will be loving you till were 70". His message or story is saying that loving someone is timeless and if you love someone you can accept the person no matter what "I just keep on making the same mistakes, hoping that you understand". His song is probably a love song to someone and he is expressing his feelings in the song.
-
I think it's about how it does't matter how old you are, how you look, you're the person who I fell in love with.
-
I think it's a beautiful song. Has a lot of love in it. And the words are lovely written too. Love at first sight. Love till he's 70. I must say its his best one
-
It's all about the way you begin to actually love people and show how this particular someone changes you in many ways both physically and mentally.
-
I am 52 and I still hoping I inspire a deep love like the song. I feel in love but I don't have the one. The writer took my fellungs in this song.
Liliana -
I met the love of my life when I was 16, and she was 14. We were married when I was almost 21, and she was almost 19. That was in 1969. I am now 67 (almost 70).
Ed wrote my song without ever meeting me. This type of Love is the universal. Its more than romantic feelings, it's the Love that lasts forever, no matter what.... -
This song basically depicts Ed's love for this girl until the end of time. It is kind of a bother when people say "oh. he is literally only going to love her until she is 70." What he is saying really is, he will love her until his last day. Yes, change is to happen. Aging, years going by, becoming weak both physically and mentally, it does not matter. His love for this girl will remain no matter what happens to him or her.

Beautiful song! My girl sent it to me on my phone telling me she found a love song that described how she felt about our love she's 33 and I'm 53 and when I listened to it the song brought tears to my eyes! Awesome song and video it reminds her of us and our awesome love and her in her little white dress and me.with all my tattoos . Thanks Ed and thank you baby our love is evergreen too and yes I'll marry you!
-
I think it is a song that is written simply because Ed wanted to let someone know how he feels. It also means that he will love her always, but the way he loves her may change.

When I heard the song, I really liked hearing it. The lyrics rhyme and the melody was perfect. This is about a guy who remembers meeting a girl when he was 23. He loved him
at first sight. The girl fell in love with him too. Because it said, Maybe we.. Meaning both of them found love by falling in love with each other. He wants the girl to show her love for him. He is telling the girl he will love her until he is 70. That will be a problem, when he is 71, he will not love her any longer. Ha ha.. Is this true love? I don't think so. Will he break up with her when he is 70? However, this song is beautiful, I really don't know what the girl will say to him when the guy reaches 70. Will the girl love him until they reach 100 or above 100. Will they both remain in love with each other until they reach their old age? Then we will now if they found true. Oh, well! The guy is just thinking out loud and made his deepest contemplation into a song.
