Placed perfectly after Shape of You, which in my opinion is a song about a brand new relationship with a girl and not finding that true emotional love for her just yet, but the physical aspect of the relationship is all there. Then in Perfect he realizes that this girl is the love of his life and he could see himself being with her forever. The song literally describes a wedding dance: "Dancing in the dark, with you between my arms, barefoot on the grass, listening to our favorite song, when I saw you in that dress...."

#2 top rated interpretation:Yes, it's a beautiful love song, written by Sheeran (as he just announced) about his fiancé who he has known since they were kids. The strength of this song, in my humble opinion, is the imagery it creates, particularly in the chorus. Admittedly, it likely appeals more heavily to the female population, as it's one of those pinnacle songs that any woman would love to hear her man sing to her. From my vantage point, I don't think he's speaking simply about her physical appearance when he says she's perfect. The line where he makes it clear he doesn't care what she's wearing (while she thinks she's a mess) speaks clearly to that. Not sure I've ever heard a more romantic song and it probably will become a favorite at weddings. There is much competition for that honor, though.

#3 top rated interpretation:This song is perfect. It tells a story of love since these two were kids and even now Ed wants to spend his lifetime with this woman. It can be a wedding song but generally its placing emphasis on the beauty and perfection of the woman and how she is too fine for him.

A boy and a girl who knew each other since they were kids. They fell in love without knowing it. The grew up became bf and gg. Then they had a wedding and became married. The man is expressing his feelings of how perfect his wife is for him and in some ways he feels he can't live up to that. But both are so in love that it works out. I like this song it is a pretty love song

I never really thought it was a wedding song, but it's a great song. It's very romantic and very nice. And, it's good to know that someone loves you. But, they don't have to love someone for their perfection. But, from who they are.

I think to write about young love is to love each other if it’s high school love then it’s okay to be in love with my boyfriend he lives in Willard drive he’s a great guy and he’s a junior this year and so he is going to major in human development he fell in love with me, I wrote this next song but I had to ask Ed if he can use the guitar for clay. Then he can take the guitar and make it into a pop sound then me and Ben have lines written down and I loved it, Ed sheeran is a talented writer, he performed with Taylor swift. He’s amazing he wanted to write our songs and we can use him as a writer and then he can play the guitar and do backup.

Love the song. Perfect means perfect to him. It doesn't mean she looks a certain way or a certain size. When you love someone what's perfect to you may be anything but, to someone else. It doesn't matter to you.

I think this is a wedding song. It is meant to be one. It talks about how he met this girl and he fell in love with her and he thinks she is perfect. He realizes that she is the one and that is perfect and he wants to spend the rest of his life with this girl. One of the reasons why I think this is because in the song it says that they are dancing in the dark, with you between my arms, barefoot on the grass, listening to our favortite song, when I saw you in the dress. What stands out the most is that he said they are dancing in the dark and when he said I saw you in the dress. THIS SONG IT MEANT TO BE A WEDDDING SONG. IT FITS IT PERFECT. IT JUST FITS TO BE A WEDDING SONG!!!!!
