Many fans want to know the evil woman's identity. The answer is the ex-wife of Stephen Joseph Woollam, original violinist for ELO, whose last name was misspelled on the band's first album. The lyrics of the stripped-down mix of this song contain an extra verse that speaks of a woman in a Cadillac, and the car model was inspiration for the Eldorado album. After leaving the band, Woollam secretly contributed to ELO music, in particular the Eldorado album, and the concept of that album was based on his life experiences as he struggled with his relationship and waited to join the band again. He was led to death by terrorists before that was able to happen, and Freddie Mercury provided a detailed account of what happened in Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, a song that specifically references two ELO songs, Mama and Poor Boy (The Greenwood). The same group of terrorists were actually responsible for the World Trade Center attacks, and it was at that time the evil woman concept took on a new meaning. ELO, and many other people, have a problem with an incessant stalker, the ex of Jeff Lynne's daughter, who is connected to these terrorists and our media. After the WTC attacks, our former president spoke of this stalker with his faceless coward comment, a direct reference to ELO's Face the Music album and the terrible things this person and these terrorists did to our world.

Typical things that a "nice guy" says. Dude´s been rejected and here the bitterness comes out. Music fantastic though.

    The song lyrics expressed everything.

Regarding the interpretation from 23:46, Sorry to hear you lived this song. Instinct you added. True, when something is off.. or your gut is telling you something.. Leave. I think you didn't love her so much because even when she felt miserable or created her own problems, you would have stayed with her no matter what. But it was your decision and I respect it. I hope I didn't offend you.

According to Lynne this song was the quickest he had ever written, in thirty minutes, originally as 'filler' for the group's Face the Music album. The song placed in the top 10 on both sides of the Atlantic in early 1976. The song became a hit again in the UK in 1978 when it featured on The ELO EP. The lyric "There's a hole in my head where the rain comes in" in the song is a tribute to The Beatles' song "Fixing a Hole".

This old''Evil Woman'' song is obviously about the Woman that knows she's manipulating and conjuring up magic of chaos with a smile on her face to use on the Man and maskerade her devilish agenda to take the Man for all his got. A Woman that forsaked a good Man who was in the goodness of The Lord. A Woman that sold out and was influenced by evil choices she made with The Negative One. Comparing Women that evolved to be like a Madaline Albright and Hillary Clinton who were also supposed to be role models to young Women when given the platform of power to navigate the S.O.S [Secretary Of State] job honestly, but unfortunatetly compromised their position evily with The Negative One, not to save lives when needed, but converted to being traitors that evolved as Vipers working for The S.O.S [Synagogue Of Satan] devils that spread their venom throughout the world that killed a lot of innocent people in The End that Justified their means, instead of saving souls.
