Evanescence: Tourniquet Meaning
Tourniquet Lyrics
but only brought more.
(so much more)
I lay dying
and i'm pouring crimson regret and betrayal.
I'm dying, praying, bleeding and screaming!
Am i too lost to be saved?
Am i too lost?
My God my tourniquet
return to...

The Evanescence performance is a cover to "Soul Embraced". The drummer of Soul Embraced is also the drummer for Evanescence. The original performer was a male, so strictly speaking, the song is not about a girl, although Amy can probably used her own interpretation when singing it.
I agree with previous interpretations about committing suicide, although not literally. Usually, first attempts to commit suicide are trying to tell peoples other that person that he is in distress, and not to actually succeed. When taken in this context, the writer is notifying the world about his inner conflict to commit suicide but he is more stable than actually trying. -
A tourniquet is used as a last resort in most situations because you may lose a limb or something. So in this case I think she's saying that she turned away from god and now she's in to deep without him so she's asking for help at the last moment before she...dies

This shit is taken from this site:
http://www.christianitytoday.com/music/glimpses/2003/fallen.html
"On the Psalm-like "Tourniquet," Amy sings, "My God, my tourniquet/Return to me salvation … Am I too lost to be saved?" She later adds, "My wounds cry for the grave/My soul cries for deliverance," which could perhaps be interpreted as the contrast between death under the law and life under redemption as outlined in the book of Romans."
Agree anyone? I hope this is helpful.
Peace. -

Wow, I never thought of it like that. That is true, you may not be able to enter heaven if you commit suicide. Wow, now I look at the song from a totally different perspective...wish I could've figured this out...guess I can't call myself and evanescencefreak no more...

The song Tourniquet really is obvious a suicide song.
It's about a girl who commites suicide and is now aksing God to forgive her, which brings up the question, can you enter heaven if you take your own life?
Suicide is a sin!
A tourniquet is a device to stop blood flow form an artery, in the song, God is the tourniquet. -
