Sugar, We're Goin Down Lyrics
I've been dying to tell you anything you want to hear
Cause that's just who I am this week
Lie in the grass, next to the mausoleum
I'm just a notch in your bedpost
But you're just a line in a song

I think it's simply about a suicide. I don't know, but he uses all these phrases like "cock it and pull it", "with a bullett", "take aim at myself". i think the author is sad and jealous because of what happened between him and that girl and how it worked out, so he wants to kill himself, because of her. he said "take back what u said" or he will "take aim at myself". i think it's obviously tells that he wants to kill himself.

this right here is a universal by " universal " i mean it plays on whatever you want it to be if it were an distinct meaning the band would have made that interpretation of the song themselves instead of thinking that someones interpretation of the song is wrong think about as in a way everyone.

To me, this song is written from the point of view of a boy who is in a platonic friendship with a girl but wants to be her boyfriend, but she's seeing someone else. Here's my analysis supporting this theory: "Am I more than you bargained for yet?" - Asking her if she is overwhelmed by his feelings. "I've been dying to tell you anything you want to hear, 'Cuz that's just who I am this week" - Indicates he is willing to pretend he is not romantically interested in her to keep the friendship going - at least for now. "Lie in the grass, next to the mausoleum" - Probably referring to the random silly things they've done together as friends. "I'm just a notch in your bedpost, but you're just a line in a song" - This is a prediction of what might happen if they start dating and things go wrong (i.e., their friendship will disappear, and all that will be left will be bitter memories). "Drop a heart, break a name" - Refers to his feelings about her slowly destroying him by seeing another man. "We're always sleeping in, and we're sleeping for the wrong team" - He is "sleeping in" by waiting too long to tell her his feelings; she is "sleeping for the wrong team" by seeing another man. "We're going down, down in an earlier round" - He is failing faster than he thought he would. "And sugar, we're going down swinging" - To "go down swinging" means to keep fighting for something even though you know failure is imminent; therefore, he will keep trying to win her over even though he knows she doesn't feel the same way for him as he does for her. "I'll be your number one with a bullet" - An example of an extravagant promise he makes to her in an attempt to get her to love him. "A loaded God complex"- Here he seems to be doing a "sour grapes" type thing, telling himself she is stuck up (has a "God complex") and he wouldn't want her anyway. "Cock it and pull it" - Referring again to his feelings of death without her. "Is this more than you bargained for yet?" - Asking again if his feelings are more than she can bear. "Oh, don't mind me, I'm watching you two from the closet, wishing to be the friction in your jeans" - Asking her to not treat him any differently because of his newly revealed feelings, since he will only "watch" and think about her (wish to "be the friction in" her "jeans") not act on his feelings; another interpretation could be that the word "closet" indicates he has not yet opened up about his feelings to her. "Isn't it messed up, how I'm just dying to be him?" - Sounds as though he's lighteheartedly joking with her about his feelings, as if she knows and accepts them. "Take aim at myself, take back what you said" - Asking her to take back her frustration towards him if he admits it was weird to feel that way about her.

This song is about a BOY being in love with a GIRL. But the girl either doesn’t notice him or cheats on him. Watch the music video. Fall Out Boy is not gay so they wouldn’t make a song about liking guys. You need to be a true Fall Out Boy fan to figure this out. So posers, suck it seriously.
Sleeping in and sleeping for the wrong team- good vs bad…come on guys. The boy that is in love with the girl is the good team, other guy bad team.
Wishing to be the friction in his jeans- obviously the girl and other guy are fooling around but the boy that truly loves the girl wants to be him. It even says he's dying to be him.

You all fail. It's about masturbation.
-
Okay whoever put the stupid shit in about a god complex being a gun is completely retarded and should honestly be tested. a god complex is a psychological disorder in which one believes they have higher or godlike powers or abilities which makes them better than everyone else.

It's about masturbation! Look at the lyrics closly! They even said it on TLC or something!

Now i might be just plain wrong but after listening to the song and watching the video... i almost want to say its about a guy and a girl that obviously had some type of affection for one another but the father of the girl didnt like a trait about the boy which the father him self has (the deer hoofs) and because the father doesnt want them together she trys to move on and leaves him behind...

Ok I listened to FOB's Unreleased album and on it Pete Wentz actually says that the song is about masturbation. And if you listen to the lyrics it kinda makes since that this could be his penis talking to him, jealous of a relationship that he has with a woman. The line "I've been dying to tell you anything you wanna hear" is his penis saying that he'll do anything to get him to jack off. The penis wants to be his "number one with a bullet" and wants him to "cock it and pull it" meaning the penis itself. The penis "watches you two from the closet" meaning it's zipped up in his pants and wishes to be the friction in your jeans" meaning it wants the friction, which causes ejaculation.

"we're goin down down in an earlier round, and sugar, we're goin down swinging"
to me it sounds like the relationship is over (by their choice or inforcement from autority, ex. parent), and that they are going to end it with a bang
"i'll be your number one with a bullet, a loaded gun complex, cock it and pull it."
maybe they have resolved to killing each other since they cant be together (joint suicide) or she wants to break up and he has resolved to murder her -
I think that its referring to a guy and a girl that he has known and grown to love. But she is in the arms of another guy, and now that she has another guy in her life, she does pay as much attention to her friend anymore. Her old friend feels invisible and neglected, so he is thinking about suicide, that's where the line, "I take aim at myself, take back what you said. Take aim at myself..." Or she could have broken up with her old boyfriend and fell in love with her long life friend. And when they broke up, she said something that caused him to commit suicide. Also the line, "Sugar we're going down swinging," refers to baseball, if you go down swinging then you strike out by swinging and missing. That might mean that they tried out being together and if it doesn't work out then they would go down knowing what it's like to date each other.

I have some unreleased live songs by FOB, and in suger we're goin down, before they start the song pete says that almost noone understands the song.
He says that the song is about sex, so yes a lot of you guys are correct :)
he then says that its about the best sex, sex with yourself.
:P
give it up for your right hand! -
It's the best song,
EVER.
haha,
i know what its about,
it matters,
but really,
i just love the beat and melody.
:]
Love you all,
El xo -
I think its about a boy that used to have a relationship with this girl, but it was purely sexual. and after it was all over, he realises that he actually really likes her.
but she is completely detatched from him emotionally, and always was. because to her, he's just "a notch in her bedpost" so he retaliates by saying that she's just a line in a song but in reality he knows she's more then that.
and then she gets into a passionate relationship and he gets really jealous of the guy. thus the line "im watching you two from the closet wishing to be the friction in your jeans" which really means that he sees the way they are together and he wants that with her. but its messed up because he knows he shouldn't like her.
the line "we're always...sleeping for the wrong team" means that they were sleeping together for the wrong reasons.
but he knows they'll never be together so they're "going down swinging" meaning they're 'throwing punches' at each other because he knows she'll never suspect that he loves her if he continues fighting with her.
anyway, I could be wrong. that's just what I get from this song (:
