Flyleaf: I'm So Sick Meaning
Song Released: 2005
I'm So Sick Lyrics
With what's written on my heart
I will break, break
I'm so sick,
Infected with where I live
Let me live without this
Empty bliss,
Selfishness
I'm so sick
I'm so sick
If you want more of this
We can...

Watch that vid.
Lacey says EXACTLY what the songs about.
How, "Sometimes the world can be a sick and messed up place, and even though we grow up in those kinds of situations doesn't mean that when we can make decisions for ourselves, that we have to stay in that situation. That we recognize what's sick and messed up around us and we change things so we can break the cycle and it doesn't have to continue."
Which perfectly explains the first line of the song.
"I will break into your thoughts, with what's written on my heart."
It's about standing up for what you believe in.
"If you want more of this, we can push out, sell out, die out."
And THAT means that if people don't stop acting like idiots, the future isn't looking too bright. -

#3 top rated interpretation:I think this song means that people aren't listening to god and he is "so sick" of people not listening to him and that he's "screaming it" and "in your itching ear" and "if we want more of this we can push out sell out die out" which means if you don't want to listen to him we are selling out to the devil "this invasion makes me feel worthless hopeless sick" if you read the lyrics it really makes since especially if you know they are a Christian band.

I've always taken it as how she's disgusted with herself, and that she realizes how unperfect she is. She's infected with selfishness and it gives her empty bliss. But every song is how you take it.
-
I think she is sick of this world who tries to make her something she doesn't want to become. the part where she talks about the clothes could mean that she feels disgusting with the way she is. society has told us what we should look like and how we should be. She doesn't want to see her worth according to this world. just my opinion.

Nobody can tell it better than Lacey Mosley.

As this song is about interpretation and not what is exactly said why an artist wrote a song, here is the actual interpretation from Lacey's point of view on the encryption of her song "I'm So Sick"
She starts off telling of how she is going to be blunt with us and throw down the ugly truth of this world. Following that she talks of hows she is actually breaking as if caving under the pressure of confessing these truths. The chorus tells of how diseased this world is which makes her so sick from a world(Where she lives) unkind to anyone else who sees the sin filled society of selfishness. She threatens how this world will grow diseased as long as we keep dishing it out and selling out our conscience until the day we die out. Lacey then reassures us that her words are heard and now making us afraid of our own self-destruction. "You sink into my clothes" speaks of how the sin of society go straight into all its inhabitants including herself. We grow up under such an infectious evil where we live making us all tainted...sick. -
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

Even if she was changed by the church doesn't mean she wasn't raped. She could have been. Do you personally KNOW her? Probably not. Or she could be talking about how others get raped. A song isn't always in the writer's perspective and the writer isn't always the main character sung about.
I think the song is about how everyone gets disgusted at the world. I don't think the writer had one specific person in mind. I think she wrote it for anyone. whether it be God, herself, or someone getting raped. -
To the person whom thought Lacy was Raped, SHE WAS NOT!!!!! Lacy said in a interview that she did drugs at the age of 10. She then moved in with her grandmother and her grandmother took her to curch and changed her self.
-
This song means that we need to believe. Plain and simple. If you dont believe in the future, there won't be one. If you feed the evil, it only gets stronger. Good is like an eternal light that is always glowing to guide the way for anyone willing to see. All the bad in this world, it only helps us grow as people. What doesn't kill us, makes us stronger.
-
i think she got raped when she was younger.
like. "you sink into my clothes"
and "this invasion makes me feel worthless hopeless sick."
also, in "i'm sorry" she says "im only 10 years old".
something mysterious there... -
I think it's about literally how she's sick of everything. She's hurting and crying out for God to help.
Something is causing her pain and she's screaming out to make it stop. *Neicy*
