Flyleaf: There For You Meaning
Song Released: 2008
There For You Lyrics
You're always a true friend
And I don't deserve you
'Cause I'm not there for you
Please forgive me again
I wanna be there for you
someone you can come to
runs deeper than my bones
I wanna be there for you
I...

She talking to her best friend. Telling her best friend that sometimes she is selfish and fake and that the person has been a good friend to her and she dose not deserve the person. And she is saying this because she is not there for her best friend and ask for forgiveness. She wants to be there for her best friend so that her best friend has some one to come to and talk to . I cant figure out what runs deeper than my bones mean.then she tells her best friend twice that she wants to be there for him or her.She could see sadness in her best friends eyes. She tells her friend that the sun took away all the sadness.and she repeats what she said before because she hears whispers. I guess the next line is about a panting that the person made and its beauty and it speacks the unspeakcable though. she tells her best friend that she love him or her and it runs deeper tan her bones .

It can be seen two ways. One way in seeing it is that she use to ignore God and then she realizes that she needs Him more than anything. Another way, can be seen in a friendship perspective, like how a best friend is saying how they feel about the other.

for me this song is abour her telling god that He was there for her through out everything and how he used to whisper to her; and how she use to ignore him and now she wants to take it back, now she wants him to do all of the things he use to do when she wasn't paying attention to him.

This is a song from Flyleaf to a soul that died that never got right with God. It is a deeply powerful that is felt for those we always fail to look out for that do nothing, love other people in return and get nothing back. The song talks of wanting to go back and be there for the troubled soul. The speaker talks of how she does not deserve to be a friend after the neglect, but still wants to be the friend the troubled soul always found the strength to be for her. The soul saw so much beauty in life, but failed to see the beauty in herself that God made her. It never fails the selfless soul to project the christlike traits they were given by God. However, this soul never held her head high with how misunderstood she was, because she was so unworldly.
