Justice and Mercy Lyrics

We can't - be - oblivious
We are - not - ignorant
Blood in our hearts
Blood on our hands
We’re human
We reason
We're breathing
Protecting
The living
And dying
Surviving
We're trying
To breath in safety
Come home safely

Mercy screams its violent...

    We can't - be - oblivious
We are - not - ignorant
    (We cant be unaware)
    Blood in our hearts
    Blood on our hands
(I think she may be talking about he precious bloob that lives in us but is also on our hands, "our sins" Jesus shed his blood on that cross because of our sins.
    We’re human
    We reason
    We're breathing
    Protecting
    The living
    And dying
    Surviving
    We're trying
    To breath in safety
    Come home safely

    Mercy screams its violent love
    Justice and mercy
    Justice and mercy
The depth of us created for
    Justice and mercy
    Justice and mercy
( I think this might mean like the choice we have to make. The depth of us created for...God gave us free will..He never forces himself)

The life - He - sacrificed
Someone - who - paid the price
(Just like i talked about earlier Jesus died on the cross for us He paid the price for our sins!Thank You Jesus!)
    Blood in our hearts
    Blood on our hands
    We cry out
    We're fighting
    It's warfare
    We're dying
    Believing
    We're winning
    It's ending
    We're singing
    It’s already done
    We’ve overcome
(We cry out..Worshiping-Is warfare for Christ. We can battle demons with the blood of the lamb and the sword of God His Word(The Holy Bible) When she sings."Were dying" It means were dying from the flesh you know like Believing God and dying of things of this world. "Were winning, Its endind Were singing" We won the battle. We put all our faith in God and He came through And we will praise him for eternity!

It's about how God had mercy, but as we are all sinners there has to be justice too. And the line "With a life on the line of fire" means that our life can go either way. We can go to heaven or hell, it's saying that you can "Ascend or decline" which is a metaphor for you can either ascend to heaven or decline God, but if you make the right choice He still has mercy on your sins. So justice and mercy have to kiss or everyone would go one way instead of it being God's mercy that sends us to heaven and justice that sends soem to hell. It's showing theres always a chance for mercy and to renew your life. Or at least that's always been what it means to me.:)

This song is about the wars. The United States was fighting in 2007 in Afghanistan and Iraq"come home saftly"refers to the soldiers that are fighting for their country. The"blood in our hands"lyric indicates that America isnt really that innocent as far as starting wars, and the title implies that we can give justice, but we have to have an equal amount of mercy to give as well"this is where they kiss"shows people that are "kissing and making up"if you will. It's almost like they are signing treaty of forgiveness
