We are Young Lyrics

Give me a second I,
I need to get my story straight
My friends are in the bathroom
Getting higher than the Empire State
My lover she's waiting for me
Just across the bar
My seats been taken by some sunglasses
Asking 'bout a scar...

I think that the guy broke up with the girl and her heart is broken symbolizing the scar and the sunglasses could quit possible be a duche-bag guy that she is with or the scar could me he him self and the duche-bag guy she brought to the bare is asking about him....and he is hoping that she gets drunk which she did and she left the duche bag and he carried he home! lol....i just love the song! its so f.u.n..

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

I think this song is mocking the younger generations and how they think they know everything. Also it mocks the need they feel to get wasted and thrashed in one night because they are young.

watching this video paired with this song it made me see it a differnt way,i thought it was about an abusive relationship at first too. i think its about a couple of course and they have S3x for the first time, which is her "scar". and "some sunglasses asking bout a scar" would be a guy trying to pick her up, in other words trying to hook up with her. but the s3x wasnt planned and they are having problems because of it. but he is still there for her if she needs someone.

well i feel like the song could possibly be about two good friends that 'hooked up' one night and the man felt more than the girl did about it and he wants her to feel the same way but at the same time wants to restore the friendship and will do anything for the girl.

To me, this song is about a couple who breaks up. The guy is heartbroken and is trying to figure out how to fix his relationship with the girl. The chourus is him trying to explain to the girl all the fun times they've had, and will have in the future. That they are young, and have a whole life time to settle down and be serious, but for now, just to have fun with it and not take things so seriously.

i think that its about and old couple with a time machine about to die so they go back in time (tonight we are young) and they are like well if i have to die then everyone will die so they (set the world on fire) and kill everyone (we can burn brighter then the sun) if everyone is on fire then yes they would be brighter then the sun (the angles have arrived) they have arrived because they are pissed off that the old people just killed them all and (they will carry me home tonight) home meaning hell.

I think when we talks about tonight, we are young, so lets set the world on fire, we can burn brighter than the sun... i think it honestly means we can fix all this, we are young enough and we have all the time in the workd to be together, so we will always be together to fix eachother, and to have make up sex.. haha.

I also agree that is in an abusive relationship, only it is a bit broken up, and it jumps a few place, but in the last verse, i thought he ended up killing her. "the angels never arrived" i dunno.... i might be WAY off on that, lol. But it also relates to good times in the past too, and he's just thinking thru his past times with her!!

I think this song is about a couple who have gone through a really rough time. I think they both feel hurt and maybe the man in the relationship feels some guilt for something he possibly did or said( whole in my appologies) but ultimately they want to give things a second chance because they realize that they love eachother and can accomplish and get through anything. Id like to think they forgive and move forward( Burn brighter than the sun) and can make it through anything. They know they will always be there for eachother and care for eachother even after all they have been through.

I think the lyrics- my seats been talken by some sunglasses asking about a scar, means to me that, they might of just broke up and theres a guy asking whats wrong because shes sad they they broke up. So hes asking about the scar in her heart.

I think its about a couple in which the guy broke up with the girl nd broke her heart but he regrets it and is tryin to ask for a second chance

I believe that when it say "my seats been taken by some sunglasses asking bout' a scar" that means a cop asking about her scars, he proceeds on saying "i know i gave it you months ago, i know your trying to forget"..."the hole in my apologies" he's describing an abusive relationship, however the chorus and some segments describe a good time.

I agree partially with this interpretation, but I think that this couple has broken up, and he's in pain, watching another guy try to pick her up. The song is about him wishing that she would convey her feelings the way Janelle sings, he's hoping that she'll give him a second chance.
