#1 top rated interpretation:This goes back to the old themes of dark vs. light. The sun represents love and happiness, while the full moon and darkness represent sorrow and depression.
When he says "The mountains are waiting" he is describing the rising of the sun to relieve them of the dark. Of course the mountain can represent him. He is waiting for the sun to rise. (Things to get better).
"The full moon has come" means that he is experiencing depression and he is waiting for the sun. (Happiness)
"I got lost on the highways" he has lost his ways in the dark. Darkness representing everything he has built.
"Don't ask me where I've been, or what I've done" (The lyrics are wrong on this page). He is saying that he knows that he has done wrong and he is lost, and he knows talking about it will only remind him of his mistakes.
"Oh Lord, send me transmission
Forgive me for what I've become" This is very straightforward. He is asking for forgiveness. You do not have to be a christian to ask God for forgiveness. He is ashamed of what he has become mentally, and the things he has done physically.
"The sun is gonna save me
Put a little love into my lonely soul"
In the end, he knows the sun will always rise, because it does every morning. He knows things will get better eventually.
"Oh, don't you know why
you need her loving you?" You can look at these last few phrases anyway you want, but I see it as Gods response. (Appearantly there is a girl wrapped up in this). He is saying, do you not see why you need her? She is your sunlight in the dark. The Highway you need to keep from getting lost.
"Float inside" This last line could mean anything. But I see it as these thoughts and feelings, of happiness, and despair, remaining in his conscious even after the sun has come up. Because once again, it will set all over again and the moon will return. -

Virtually he's talking about wanting noodle back (case is she is missing) but I thought they found her before this album started so now this leads me to the next response, reality it's begging for depression/suicidal forgiveness and the last two phrases before 2-d reaches the final phrase means that he would be questioning a male lover over a female that 2-d (Damon) loves but she's taken by that male, he is asking the man "well don't you know why? You need her loving you?"
Meaning "why do you really love her" as if the male did not fully intend on loving her. (I know Damon so I was informed since I was curious). -
"Oh lord send me transmissions (it means like, to stop being depressed, give him a reason to make his life have a meaning) Forgive me for what I've become (Forgive me for being suicidal and having those suicidal thoughts) The sun has come to save me
Put a little love into my lonely soul (If someone makes him happy, then the suicidal thoughts will disappear" -
He's looking for companionship.

I think this song talk aboout a lonely boy singing in the night "the mountains are waiting" that means that the sun is coming,so that's the reason he says "the sun is gonna save me" and he talks to god,god gives him the sun,the sun means love and love in his night, and he prays for a lady,he wants that she have to love the sun too,so both my think that there is a someone for love.

well i think this is a very dark song...I heard it when a friend of mine comitted suicide...so I think death is the main subject when she says "the mountains are coming" she means that heaven is coming, meaning she is dying, then she starts feeling shame of his actions on earth, her bad choices, almost as if she was on the entrance of heaven wondering if she deserves to go in.
After that she says "on lord send me transmission trying to comunicate with god then she askes him for forgiveness.
After that she comes back to earth, because she still is between life and death fighting for her life trying to find hope or something that defines if she should keep fighting for her life or just let go... on the last verse she says Oh, "don't you know I need her loving you It's no desire", she is talking about herself needing god, something higher and pure...
you can either take it as if she comitted suicide and is in the last second of her life, regretting this decision , or as if it was simply her time to go and she does not want to accept it.
