Gorillaz: Tranz Meaning
Song Released: 2018
Tranz Lyrics
Oscillate yourself tonight
When you're in your bed
Simulate the dopamine
Passing through your head
[Pre-Chorus]
When you get back on a Saturday night
And the room is caving in
[Chorus]
Do you look like me? Do you feel like...

1TOP RATED
#1 top rated interpretation:The song is about getting high and being alone with your thoughts.
-
2TOP RATED
#2 top rated interpretation:In verse 1 2d tells the listener to oscillate themselves and to simulate the dopamine in their head.
Dopamine is responsible for the feeling of pleasure or excitement (especially in love) comparing it to coming back from a Saturday night. He also asks the listener if they feel like him or if they turned into their effigy (model or sculpture) -
3TOP RATED
#3 top rated interpretation:To the person who said gay people are trying to make everything about themselves, gay people aren't trans and people aren't saying that because the song is called 'Tranz' they're saying that it could be about trans people. It's because in the lyrics it specifically says:
do you look like me
do you feel like me
The lyrics 'And the room caving in' which come in before the lyrics above makes me think that this song is about gender dysphoria and it's from a trans person's perspective. The beginning is the person coming back home from a public place and questioning people who aren't trans if they 'dance' which to me seems as if a substitute for sex.
-
So it's definitely just a play on the word "trance", they threw a Z on the end of it like they have with "Gorillaz".
HOWEVER
That does not mean that a trans person can't use the song to help them relate or feel safe. There are parallels in the lyrics, after all.
-
All these gay people tryna make it about them selves because the song is called Tranz. It’s called Tranz as in a form of the word Trance. Geez stop making everything about you gay people.
-
This song may be about living as a closeted transgender person and struggling with the mental weight that comes with that.
