Are you insane like me?
Been in pain like me?
Bought a hundred dollar bottle of champagne like me?
Just to pour that motherfucker down the drain like me?
Would you use your water bill to dry the stain like me?
Are you high...

I believe that because of the chorus "low on self esteem, so you run on gasoline.", the song means the singer feels depressed and is only going through the motions of life. I also believe that because the person is constantly being judged and labeled, they don't know how to stop what they're doing. This makes them feel hopeless.

The way I interpret it is that it is an entertainer who the audience doesn't see the entertainer as a person but just a machine who is there to entertain. when it says "low on self-esteem so you run on gasoline" it means that the Entertainer doesn't feel like a person anymore so she is low on self-esteem and she feels like a robot.

I think that she has to act a certain way when around people basically "Perfect". And she is sad because she be herself in front of society.

The girl in this song is depressed and she has to act perfectly in front of others and can't be herself.
