Keep Driving Lyrics
-
ok i honestly think this song was written about don't worry darling. I also read that harry wrote this song after he got off set.
So:
the film takes place in the 1950s:
-”Black and white film camera,
Yellow sunglasses“
-”Ashtray, swimming pool“
-> bunny was always smoking, swimming pool is pretty self-explanatory if you saw the movie
- ”Jump off the roof“
-> Margaret's "accident"
-”A small concern with how the engine sounds“
-> the concern that alice will find out the truth and expose it
-”We held darkness in withheld clouds“
-> the victory project. the men are "holding the darkness" because they are basically holding the women hostage to make it all perfect and happy. the clouds could represent the life jack wanted to offer alice but could only achieve by bringing her to the victory project.
-” I would ask, "should we just keep driving?"“
-> the men want to stay there, to convince the women that everything is perfect as it is.
- ”Maple syrup, coffee
Pancakes for two
Hash brown, egg yolk
I will always love you“
-> the breakfast all women did everyday, the perfect life they are living, both love each other and things are going well
-”Kiss her and don't tells“
And this is where I think the song sounds more dramatic, so it might symbolize the point where Alice is starting to realise what the Victory Project is. The men love the women but don't tell them the truth about the victory project.
- ”Moka pot Monday, it's all good
hey you,
Should we just keep driving?“
-> Alice is taken away, her memories are erased and everything is (for some time at least) good again. so jack wants to stay there...
i hope it makes sense... i think it would :)
tpwk luvs, larry is real, have a good day!
