   Lou's lips and his deep blue eyes, knowing that Lou posting the day this song was released posted a pic of him wearing a white to make it clearer, knowing that he have a few more tattoos, "but it's not u and it's not me" it's probably that they didn't have a choice that their relationship is no longer as it used to (bcz they r closeted by the manager) the next line, is about their love being obvious since a lot of ppl are convinced but still they still r keeping their distance bcz they r closeted, "we're not who we used to be" they no longer can touch and hug in front of the camera, "we're just two ghosts standing in the plce of you nd me" probably about how they avoid contact whe they perform live, "trying to remember how it feels to have a hearbeat" I guess how they used to laugh together and just act themselves, on the next lines he is talking about how easy their relationship wis and how they are each other rocks through everything, and "tongue tied like we've never known, telling those stories we already know but we don't say what we really mean" it's about them not being honest and clear about the whole Larry thing And having to lie about it

   As a Larrie, I'm going to write from a Larrie's point of view. I believe this is about Louis and there might not be a romantic message in the song.
   'We're not who we used to be. We're just two ghosts standing in the place of you and me.'
   This could refer to how close him and Louis used to be in interviews and to the public. However, this has changed as they're being closeted by their management (their is plenty of Larry proof). When this song was released, Louis posted a picture to Instagram in a white shirt, holding up two fingers (revealing his 28 tattoo). This could show that Louis is trying to show he knows it's about him. Now, their relationship-whether it's friendly or romantic- is all behind closed doors and they both want the old times back.

   He is observing her(Taylor) most bold features a long with his. Though she has the same classic red lips and deep blue eyes, she is not the same person he knew once before. Hinting that this relationship changed them.
   
   "Tastes so sweet, looks so real
   Sounds like something that I used to feel
   But I can't touch what I see"
   
   He can no longer get in touch with her, the reason is unclear. He still sees her(Taylor) in photos but he can't reach out no matter how bad he wants to. The sounds he hears could be referring to the songs Taylor has written about him.

   Trying to remember how it feels to have a heartbeat"
   
   they have changed so much since their breakup and they are like ghosts(apparitions)of who used to be there. Heartbeat part could mean that he doesn't feel anything, he's numb.

   This was all we used to need"
   
   He's reflecting on their relationship and how easy it was. Stating that they were all each other needed.
   
   "Tongue-tied like we've never known
   Telling those stories we already told
   'Cause we don't say what we really mean"
   
   The lack of communication is what tore this apart and seemed to be constant issue which made them lack substance.
