Incubus: Blood on the Ground Meaning
Blood on the Ground Lyrics
I'm afraid of what I might say
I bite my tongue every time you come around
'Cause blood in my mouth beats
Blood on the ground
Hand over my heart I swear
I've tried everything I could within all my...

This song is not about anger or revenge. It's about self preservation. It's a positive view about heeding that little voice inside your head telling you it's better to keep you true feelings to yourself for your own sake. "I've earned the right to my silence in quite discerning between ego and timing." speaks to me the following....
Your disrespect deserves a punch in the mouth but this is not the right time.

The way Brandon pronounce "beats" sounds like "bitch"
It is a about a woman, clearly. -
I think this song refers to him having this angry thought about something or someone, and he cant stand it any more so he prefers to hold it so there is not a big mess and avoid conflict with people not worth it.
-
I think it's about wanting to say something so bad except you know if you say it then there will be trouble. So you hold it in
-
Sometimes when you're pissed at someone, it's better to just avoid that person, and to avoid conflict.

HMMmm, I gues it can be interpreted in many ways! To me it's about a breakdown of a relationship and his afterthoughts..
"I don't wanna talk......." may have reference to the fact that he was sick and tired of trying to sort out issues/problem's in the relationship to a point where it became a release of a manifestation of anger and frustration where so hectic ( and maybe regretable ) stuff was said.
next stanza gives an explanation as to how hard he tried to make things work ("I've slaved........")and why he's so fed up/pissed off at what happened. And finishes off with the ultimate of insults "Cause something inside of me has said more than twice, That breathing less air beats breathing you" ----- OUCH!!!!!As to say that she??? was even worse than the feeling of suffocation.
"Good judgement.......worth it's weight in gold" Shows that
the learnt the value and process of keeping quiet and/or choosing the right times to speak up when pissed off. Then finishes off again with another hectic insult----"That seeing you is like pulling teeth, and hearing your voice is like chewing tin foil"!!!!!
"High fives to a better judgement
By saying less today I will gain more
Low two's to you my fickle friend
Who brought the art of silent war"
And I guess to finish off his own self satisfaction/gratification of knowing that making the right decision (whether it initially hurts you or someone else)in the long term will turn out for the best for u.
