Kelly Clarkson: Irvine Meaning
Irvine Lyrics
are you watching me?
as i lie here on this floor
they say you feel what i do
they say your here every moment
will you stay, stay til the darkness leaves?
stay heere with me?
i know your busy
i know im just one
but...

I really like this song! It may be sad, but it's really meaningful to someone who maybe going through a difficult time in their life. Also, to the anonymous people, all of you did a wonderful job explaining what you thought the song meant. I really loved reading all of them! If someone doesn't really understand it, or wants hear someone else's interpretation of it, then reading of of yours would certainly help!

I think that Irvine is a prayer to God when she hit are hard point in her life. She sings "why can't you just take me" in part of the lyrics. "How are you so strong" and "Your love, a complete mystery" are also hint's that she is talking about God.
-
I believe that Irvine is talking about Jesus, because "how are you so strong" he was strong in the face of persecution. "Your heart is really something" Jesus is a very loving person. There are many evidences of that in the Bible. When she says "Why is it so hard" she's asking God how he can let her suffer and "Why can't you just take me" is her asking why she can't just die and have him take her to heaven. Shes asking if he sees her in her deep dark depression and "your love a complete mystery to me" could possibly be saying that God doesn't love her, or has foresaken her. She says "I know your busy, I know I'm just one but you could be the only one who sees me, the only one to save me" she's praying for help in her depression.
-
After the gap, there is a hidden track.
-
Irvine is simply a prayer to God. Its so awesome to hear a simple song with a simple melody because this is how prayer should be.
-
I think it's obvious she's talking to God about her depression and she's saying "why cant i just die so I'm not around this sadness anymore"
-
I think she is talking to someone that is dead maybe a lost love that died and it is his spirit that she is talking to.
-
I read somewhere that Kelly was pretty much fed up with the way things had been going in her life both personally and professionally. It's called Irvine because she wrote it in Irvine, California after a concert. She wrote it in the bathroom at the venue she performed at. She said it's a prayer-type song.

Ok here it is, phrase by phrase:
Are you there?/are you watching me?
That would be saying 'you' are gone and 'I' hope you see this.
As I lie here on this floor
That would be "I'm depressed and I can't take it anymore, ever since you left"
They say you feel what I do/They say you're here every moment
That would be "They say your spirit still is with me". That means the the 'you' is dead or in a vegatable state
But you might be the only one who sees me/the only one to save me
That means you were the only good thing in my life until you died but you might still help me get outta this stinkin' depression.
Why can't you just take me/I don't have much to go/before I fade completely
That means I just wanna DIE because I don't have too much to lose anyways. So take me up to heaven so I can be with you.
Can you feel how cold I am/Are you lonely up there by yourself?
That means you've experienced the same as I do.
so basically this is when she is at this incredibly low point in her life because she has lost a loved one.She doesn't want to go the same path as the person because that's what caused him/her to die. But she is.
