Kelly Clarkson: Behind These Hazel Eyes Meaning
Song Released: 2005
Behind These Hazel Eyes Lyrics
You were a part of me
I used to stand so tall
I used to be so strong
Your arms around me tight
Everything, it felt so right
Unbreakable, like nothin' could go wrong
Now I can't breathe
No, I can't sleep
I'm...

#1 top rated interpretation:I personally think this is one of her best songs. It's about how she thought she was in love and thought it was perfect. Then she figured out that he was a lier and cheater. She's hurt but she's not gona let him see her cry. That would just make him happy. She's being strong around him, but still broken inside.

#2 top rated interpretation:I agree with the other interpretations that this is obviously a breakup song. When she says that "you won't get to see the tears I cry..." I think she's saying that although she's hurt and broken hearted she's not going to let the guy see her pain so he won't have power over her because he won't know how much he hurt her.

#3 top rated interpretation:Well I kind of think the meaning of this song is obvious. She had a boyfriend who she honestly though she was absolutely in love with & at some point she really thought he was "the one". But then she lost him & she doesnt know what to do about it & she's so angry & confused that she doesnt know what to do. Also she's gotten to the point that she doesnt even really cry anymore, she's just so broken up inside that it feels like she's crying on the inside.

I think the song has the upbeat song but this song is a breakup song I hate breakup songs, because it’s hard to talk about but I would stay calm and the label had been talking to us about it and that chord is so powerful and that Logan has the best dance moves, he will teach me how to dance, he’s so taltened.

My interpretation of this music video/song:
Well, I'm originally the person who did this:
Welll, What is going on in my head is:
Kelly is getting married to this guy, who is secretly in a relationship with this other girl, but he still really loves Kelly. Then, at the wedding that other girl is stupid enough to blow a kiss and the guy is dumb enough to smile, and Kelly see's, leading her to have more than enough evidence to know that the guy was not the right one, even though she really likes him. Then she makes a whole scene and blows off the wedding. Thanks my interpretation of this song and music video.
And I missed something I wanted to say so:
Yada yada yada, even though she really likes him, thats where i'll start.
Even though she really likes him. The guy feels so bummed out, because you can see he puts his hands to his head in a sort of manner like:
"Aww god I messed up..."
So you can see that he is, indeed, not happy with his choice, but he knows he'd be happy both ways, but doesn't know which way to choose, and Kelly is one of the many choices being dissed. -

Oh, the ways I can relate. I'd tell you what happened, but you probably wouldn't care:{. Anyway, this song obviously is about a guy who hurt Kelly very badly. She acts like she's made the "mistake" of falling in love a lot ("Here I am, once again"), and never felt ok except with him("You made me feel alright for once in my life"). Now since he broke up with her, she is incredibly messed up("So together but so broken up inside. Now I can't breathe, no I can't sleep, I'm barely hanging on."). But she's also not going to let him see what he did to her and how bad it hurt("But you won't get to see the tears I cry").Now, she just doesn't know how she'll survive.

I think this song is about more than a break up. In my opinion, it's about all the relationships that don't work, all the brokenhearted people out there. But it's also telling you to be strong, and when she says "but i don't cry on the outside anymore" I think she means that we pretend to be strong, but inside we're broken.
-
My personal insight of this song is that it's about a girl who had a boyfriend she loved very much who has passed away and she is consumed by confusion and despair that she isn't even able to cry anymore though in her heart she very much feels like doing it
-
This is not a song about one guy. This happens every time she finds the "right one" "Here I am once again" it always ends the same.
-
This could be about a person she was madly in love with and just... everything faltered. She saw him for who he really was, but she knew that he wasn't worth her tears or any emotion so...there she is in the same situation she's been in too many times before and...she was fed up with feeling that way. He wasn't work the work it took to keep the tears from falling from her eyes. That was the last straw for her...she was completely done.
-
Well, the girl is really sad because she and her boyfriend were madly in love, and then they broke up. But now I guess she's getting over it.
-
I agree with the breakup thing..but I think they broke up more than once because it says "here I am, once again." I dunno. That's just what I think.

This song was written initially with Luke Gottswald, Ben Moody, and I think also David Hodges, who the song is about.
At first it was about fame, and the ways of her world, but after David hurt her, she changed it because she has said that she has to write songs to get out of that painful state of mind. She changed it right before the record was to be sent out, and was lucky to get it on. It's about how he had hurt her. That's about it. It's 100% about pain and realization.
lol, and I love this song because of that haha... -
