Got the Life Lyrics
something kick on the front floor.
Mine? Something, inside.
I'll never ever follow.
So give... me... some... thing... that... is... for... real.
I'll never ever follow.
Get your boogie on...
Hate,...

#1 top rated interpretation:He unlike many singers and actors is admitting that he has too much. He knows that he has things that he doesn't need and therefore no longer wants.this is shown in the video clip when he drives a ferrari of a bridge and it blows up. That his way of saying money isn't his motivation. The music is what drives him. I think we need to respect the fact that he has the balls to say that.

#2 top rated interpretation:Jonathan Davis – “That's a song baggin' on myself. How everything's always handed to me. How I look up to God and don't want this anymore. Like I want something more out of life than all this. And I've got everything I really need but I sometimes don't like. I don't know how to explain it. I have to let it sit through the songs more to actually get into what I write. I truly know, really, the meanings of the songs almost. That's what I'm getting out of it right now.”

I believe that "Got the Life" could also be seen in an retroverted way. Perhaps got the life is a song detailing the prerequisites for success. Good artists sometimes have their beginnings in dark places in their lives. Poverty, abuse, bigotry, and hate. Dealing with no forgiveness could be a way to understand that given the circumstances, all one can do is literally become one with the hate in order to achieve success. After having to deal with issues of God and letting concepts of god go, getting your boogey on is an encantation that brings in the dark forces of spirituality. Got the Life could very well mean getting everything you want and not wanting to have things handed down. But it could also be interpreted as "having the life" that comes with being an artist. And that life might not all be hand outs, optimistism, or even success; it could just be primitive survival.

First of all JD didn't crash his exotic, that was Munky, and David. But no biggie. This song is about self reflection, being told to follow GOD, and feeling convicted for normal things, IE "getting off". Tired of the empty, abandoned feeling he considers the Devil; as for GOD up to this point in his life---"I'll never ever follow." If The Devil can give him something for "real", then "another sheep will follow.." getting his "boogie on (switching sides, he now dances with the devil..."come dance with me.." encouraging you to follow. He has switched sides, and mocks those who still follow GOD, by referring to tue devil now as his god, the devil telling Jon, paging Jon referring to others who follow GOD as he used to.....

with fame comes money with money comes problems such as addictions or feeling spoiled jd just wants people to feel his music deeply in the soul and heart because he has something to say he does not speak on albums or shows for money he does it to free himself and let people understand his struggles he does not make music for money and if people keep givin him nice gifts or handouts he is not himself.
people would probably understand that if you didnt see the video and say "ooh look he crashed a ferarri" its not because he doesnt care about money its because he can live just fine without it. - TAC 3 -
He does not want things that are just given to him.Because even if it is a present anything given ALWAYS expects something in return. For example its an unsaid opinion that if you accept a present for your birthday you need to give a present to the person who gave it one to you for yours. thats just making things basic.Anyway , the point is that for everything he got he needs to give something back.Even if he got something he did not want he might have to give something he really needs for that.In other words he got something he did not want but cannot return. and now he has to follow up on that even though he does not want to.But others force him.
Thats just my opinion.
I do not think this song is religious,in my opinion god`s actions present something he cannot control, not intended to be supernatural or omnipotent or nothing like that... -
I believe it's about people thinking their band has everything easy.
