Korn: Need To Meaning
Song Released: 1995
Need To Lyrics
Wanting to give in, needing your help
Skin cold with fear, feel it when we touch
Outside I don't know you, but inside I'm fine (fucked)
Can you see it in me?
Skin cold from touch
Each day confronted with...

#1 top rated interpretation:"'Need To' is about being in a relationship with someone you love so much but you are too scared to get close to them because you're paranoid that they may stop loving you.
You pull me closer, I push you away,
You tell me it's okay, I can't help but feel the pain.
I was used to being used by people I loved and any future relationship was going to feel the same. Every time I thought I was getting too close, I would push her away." – Jonathan Davis -
Really good song. Tho I know the meaning now and I don’t think Jonathan Davis isn’t the type but I always thought it was a creepy song about what a rapist or someone would think about. Like the thoughts of needing to touch someone but “push you away” like someone fighting the thoughts of rape or pedophilia. (Yes I know my head is fucked for taking it that direction lmao)

I saw an interview with Jon years ago where he told the meaning of the song.
It's about a psudo relationship he got in with a girl who was taken, possibly by one of his friends.
She was cheating on her boyfriend with Jon, but he got more attached (Why are you taken?) and regretted that he had done this to his friend (Each turn confronted with what I have done) and the mess he got himself into. Knowing that she is with him even when they are together (Skin cold with fear, feel it when we touch) -
I'd say its about his inability to stop pushing a girl away out of fear because he feels he "needs to"

i belive jonathan is talking about how its hard for him to be in a close relationship.
according to the lyrics he wants to get close but its no possible since hes afreid to loose it, afreid to get too close and eventually get hurt. -
I think this song is talking about an ex-girlfriend. I think this girl has left him for another man but he still loves the girl.
Now I think this woman is with the man the she left jon for but she still comes around to have sex but jon still lives her. Therefore she is cheating on the other man.
"You pull me closer, I push you away
You tell me it's okay, I can't help but fell the pain"
I think he's sayin that the girl says its ok lets have sex and Jon says no I love you I want more then sex and she's like its ok but he still feels the pain, but pain can also be love.
"I hate you!
Why are you taken?
I love you!
I feel so helpless
Why is it you? "
Why are you taken he says is where I get the idea that she is an ex or a woman he loves that he can't have and that's why he feels helpess. Then says why is it you.
I COULD BE WRONG :)... but I went throw a break up with a lover and pretty much everything he wrote is my experience that I am going through so it helps, I can relate to the lyrics regardless if same meaning as I interpret. -
