Korn: Oildale Meaning
Oildale Lyrics
Feeling all good
You cant resist
You have to be all
Up in it
Dont it feel great
Talking Shit
I let it go.
[Chorus:]
Why dont you just leave me alone.
My heart is gonna break from the fall.
Holding on to petty...
-
I believe the song is just about the people who did talk shit and pick on Jon as a child and teen, and now he is putting it all behind him and such.
-
I'm going to guess that this song is about his troubled past and now he is putting it behind him
-
If this song I s about his childhood people from there who pick on Davis must be thinkin wow I'm a total asshole for pickin on this kid .

Oildale is a suburb of Bakersfield, KoRn's home town. It was in Oildale where Jon Davis worked as a coroner's assistant, which inspired the morbid lyrics to such KoRn songs as A.D.I.D.A.S., Dead Bodies Everywhere, and Dead. This part of Bakersfield is known for it's prominant and extremely prejudiced white trash population, as well as a drug epidemic. At the end of the song he screams "Leave me the fuck alone" meaning his days spent in Oildale are behind him, and wants nothing more to do with it.
-
I thought it was about the earth and the oil spill. If the earth could write a song this is what it would be.KoRn is starting to go green and I think the oil spill pissed davis off. Most of the lyrics point to that topic to me as well as the name of the song.
-
It's a song about a kid trying to get out of Oildale. A town with nothing there but oil fields.
-
This is a town in California, but its mostly filled with Hicks and Rednecks. I'm guessing Korn doesn't like Hicks and Rednecks.
