Lil Wayne: How to Love Meaning
How to Love Lyrics
A little louder
You had a lot of crooks tryna steal your heart
Never really had luck, couldn’t never figure out
How to love
How to love
You had a lot of moments that didn’t last forever
Now you in the corner tryna put it...

I think the narrator is telling someone that he/she is a beautiful person inside and out. But they keep denying and believe its a lie bcos they were born with low self esteem and feeling insecured most of the time.
Love is a believing creature. Perhaps, make love not war. Peace :) -
When he says dreams transform in two visions Little Dwayne is referencing the song double vision (two visions) by Foregner. This song is about the lady on the cover of the record HEAD GAMES (which is why little wane says looking over your shoulder - PROOF http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_yYtcs1nU4_4/TSgBgr2Lb7I/AAAAAAAABJ0/XqjJzVJibqs/s320/ForeignerFront.jpg)
Also LIl Wang's song "Damage Is Done" by Lil Wayne sampled Foreigner's "The Damage Is Done". PROOF -
This song is about choices. The woman in this song does not know how receive love or give love in all of her relationships, not just in the romantic ones. There is a pattern in the protagonists life. Just like her mother before her, she makes poor choices because she has to make a living. But not because it's her own fault, but because of the difficult circumstances she grew up in she cannot do anything else. So due to that, she uses her body to earn a living; that is admirable but she doesn't know how to treat herself well. Lil Wayne is saying to girls in similar situations to value who you are on the inside and outside. Don't just let men (or anyone) take advantage of you; be confident, comfortable in your skin, and make the choice to love yourself first. If you love yourself, you will see the rest of your relationships and life flower.

It soundz to me dat dere was a women who had crooks who tried to steal her heart and dose man who did didnt like her for who she was dey only liked her becuz she wud have had sex wif dem and since she was a stripper she was scared about how all dose men looked at her she didnt feel secure and dose men treated her so poorly. And at da end of the video of How To Love she tells dat lady dat was wif her"Thank you for teaching me how to love" becuz she finnally got a man dat appreciated her and accepted dat way she was :-) <3

I think he was trying to tell this woman's story, trying to get her to see that she doesn't have to be a stripper to be considered worth something. He is trying to say that no matter how she looks, gorgeous or not, she is not a waste of life. All life should be valued. In this case, she is beautiful and they want to love her without loving her. In other words, they don't want to love her as a person but as a stripper. She is a stripper because she is afraid to open her heart and be hurt. She was hurt by so many guys, she had many doubts about finding the right one. The woman thinks that any guy is a monster. She thinks all mens goals are to hurt the women they date.

I think that he is trying to tell parents that how they raise their children affects them a lot in the future, and i think that when he wrote that song he was thinking about his dughter, trying to show her that he really cares and is trying to do his best to raise her

This song is about a girl who is abused for her outer beauty as a young adult. She sees her outer beauty but doesn't think that anyone will ever love her. She finally finds her inner beauty and turns her life around, gets married, and figures out how to love. This song is about a girl who finds her inner beauty after being loved only for her outer beauty and body.

I cry everytime I listen to this song. The video is what makes the words come to life.
I think this song is about a girl who grows up not knowing how to act around guys who she likes because she didn't have a positive influence growing up as a kid. So when she try's to impress guys she likes she thinks automatically, I wanna be sexy around him and that will make him like me. So she try's to get guys by having sex with them and then falls for the guy only to have the guy never fall for her. He dates her just to have sex, when she really wants a relationship as well. He breaks her heart over and over because she never figured out how to love. She gets to a point where she just doesn't care anymore and becomes numb emotionally, starts getting money from sex/thought I might as well get something from it he's gettin what he wants. She starts strippin to get through college and pay bills. She doesn't really value herself all that much and now it's all about the money. She goes to the dr. Gets a positive blood test back HIV positive and totally freaks out. She doesn't have anyone who she can talk too because if anyone ever found out she would be laughed at and talked about when all she really wanted to be was normal. Shes sittin in a corner thinking things through like f*** what am I gonna do now. Then the video rewinds and shows how if she would have had a positive upbringing and had been shown how to love with her parents being married, loving each other not fighting in front of her when she was younger, her mother was there to show her how to love, not out doing her own thing & not caring about what happened with her daughter. She ends up getting pregnant in the end and keeps it instead of getting an STD.
Either way, lil Wayne is trying to say no matter how your life was growing up your beautiful. No matter if you have no father, no mother, your parents did meth when you were young, you slept around and got hpv, herpes, HIV, etc.. Or if you were raised to keep your virginity till marriage. It doesn't matter, because what matters in the end, true love is what the person is like personally, not how sexy they are. -
he wans money and weed and b...... hell yeaaaa

Its about a girl who was raped and she got preganant and as she goes to get an abortion she decides she cant go through with it.
-
He is singing about someone who he knows or has heard of. How they grew up, with some kind of abuse which made them incablable of trusting the people they love. This person was put down a lot and was therefore unable to build self confidence, which made them feel like failures .."You had a lot of dreams that transform to visions.." so they were unable to complete anything because they thought they would fail. Which leads to the "inability" to love, because they don't love themselfs.

This song has more than one meaning. But if you look at the lyrics u will see one thing, when u see the video u will se another. I like to see both because I like to see how there connected to get the bigger picture. So basically it starts off with the girls mother about to get an abortion probably she was in a bad relationship and didn't want the child to grow up in it. Well she keeps the baby and that's the girl lil wayne is speaking of. She grows up seeing her parents fight her "real dad" in jail. Her moms new bf rapes or molest her while the mom is in the house asleep. So at a young age her mom keeps the baby in bad situations allowing the girl to have a neg. Outlook of love and the world. By what her Mom allowed her to grow up in. So later she grows up follows in her Moms bad footsteps. Fooling around in high school (like most girls do these days) she has 2 kids and a worthless baby daddy. So what is she to do? Well instead of putting herself in school and giving herself and her kids a better life, she doing what she knows best.(of what her crooked heart and life has taught her) she decides she needs to put things together so she goes to the corner, strippin and prostituting to make ends meet. At the same time the men paying attention to her is what brings her security. She never had the "luck" from the start as her whole picture of life was painted poorly from the beginning. She uses her outer beauty to seduce men. And the men giving her attention is where she finds what she mistakes as love. She ends up catching hiv. Then the video sort of rewinds and plays what seems to be a better picture of what should of happen once her mom chose to keep her instead of abort her. She should of worked things out with her baby daddy for her childs sake (the girl) got married and made a better life for her daughter to be raised in. Had that have happened the girl would have learned what love was by examples of her parents and love never would have been distorted for her. She should have been taught early on by her parents (mostly mom) had that happened she would of focusedin school, graduated college, found a good honest job and she would of respected herself enough to wait for the right man instead of getting pregnant in high school. Many women who resort to stripping and such don't feel as if there's another way. Due to the fact they messed there lifes up by not graduating. so putting the video and lyrics together there is a lot of messages. But a positive smart person will grab on percieve it into a good lesson. A negative person will grab it and distort it. Point is love yourself within. Outer beauty is over rated by crooked men only wanting one thing.women are weak emotionally and men kno that so they use that to take advantage. Look back at the story of adam and eve. And how God explains men and women differently. Life and the decieving and corruption that satan has brought to us will make more sense.really good song and a really good video I just wish it wasn't brought to us by a corrupted man who uses his fame and talent for his own glory and greed.

Has anyone seen the video? It depicts what he's trying to say in the song - that when people around you make bad choices, the effects can be devastating for all involved. In the video, a little girl was molested by a man. This put her on the trajectory to stripping, prositution, and ultimately contracting HIV. Through unfortunate occurences in her childhood, s he ended up with a very twisted example of what love was.
In the last part of the video, it rewinds and shows the girl on a much different life path - her dad wasn't in prison, her parents were married, she went to school & got a good job, married a man she loved, and was joyous upon learning about her pregnancy. The good or bad decisions that we make profoundly affect many more people than we realize. Let's all choose to show those in our path of influence "how to love." God bless. -
This song is about teaching this girl how to love. Not her outer looks but her inner beauty. She had no self-confidence after seeing how her mother was treated in the past. So as she grows up it's hard for her to see her beauty. Never seeing or experiencing love she just doesn't understand it. Her way of "loving" is through sex. She doesn't think it matters how you feel about a person, just if you have sex with them, then it's loving. But, it really isn't. I think Lil Wayne is trying to tell you women your beautiful! No matter what a man says. Have some self-confidence and don't through yourself at everything that moves! Respect yourself! This girl in the video never had respect towards herself starting at a young age. That's why she stripped. But honestly everyone isn't going to be Miss America on the outside... It's just what's on the inside that matters.
