Lil Wayne: How to Love Meaning
How to Love Lyrics
A little louder
You had a lot of crooks tryna steal your heart
Never really had luck, couldn’t never figure out
How to love
How to love
You had a lot of moments that didn’t last forever
Now you in the corner tryna put it...

Well in the video it shows two different lifestyles of the little girl. The mom was abused by the dad and when the mom got a new boyfriend the little girl who grew up got molested by this guy and this affected her life she makes out with the guy and she goes into stripping and gets the H.I.V then the video reverses it to where the mom moves in with the family and marrys a nice guy. When the daughter sees how nice he was and treated the mom right she grew up a good girl, talked to a nice boy at school graduated and got pregnant without H.I.V.. small negative things can affect a persons life

I thnk hez talkin 2 an insecure female and my favourite part z"you're beautiful"

Her heart is closed because people have treated her unfairly and gotten her hopes up just to let her down. It’s not her fault that her love life hasn’t worked out but she’s distressed about it.
It’s obvious that she is broken because she’s acting like she doesn’t care or want love.
She’s attractive but her good looks have attracted the wrong type of men and now she assumes that any man that looks at her will treat her badly and only want one thing from her.
She has a low self worth, which makes her do self-destructive things, and act like she doesn’t care about anything but deep down she does care and is worried that people will see this.
She is not naïve because people have hurt her and that makes her push others away.
She doesn’t admire bartending and stripping even though she does it and he doesn’t like his life of partying either so she shouldn’t be angry with him for what he does or feel ashamed of herself.
A lot of people have used her but there are people out there like that and there’s nothing he can do about that.
He appreciates her even though he knows he can’t change what has happened in the past but it’s a shame because it shouldn’t have happened because she is worthy of more. -
This song is definitely written about a stripper who Lil Wayne has befriended. She's a beautiful girl, but insecure, most likely because of some type of abuse or just her experiences of guys treating her like an object. "can't have a guy looking at your for 5 seconds without you feeling insecure".
With all of those insecurities, and also being in a profession. She never learns how to love.
The line "I admire Popping bottles to tipping, just as you admire Bartending to Stripping", I feel is very subtle and my realization of what this means is why I wrote this review. Popping bottles in a strip club is a reference to the VIP room and tipping is of course tipping at the stage. Strippers don't admire bartending in clubs as they don't make as much money. Wayne is trying to explain to her his feelings on the VIP room, and then says "so Don't be mad, no body else tripping. You've seen alot of crooks and those crooks still crooks". Some strippers are unable to fall in love because they view that guys who pay them the most money as giving them the most love. Guys on the other don't view this as love, but instead it shows that the woman is selfish, and not respecting them. I could go on, but you get the point. Wayne is just trying to educate this girl that paying her more money is not fun for him, and that he does find her beautiful. -
i think it's about a girl grews up with her single mum and one day boyfriend of her mom raped , since this day sha starts to go out with people .... in the end they show us a different side of the story if she wasn't raped wath will hapen !!

First, I think Lil Wayne is the best one to say what he meant by this video. However, if you notice, first, the mother came running out of the hospital, she chose to give birth rather than abort her baby. Second, the baby is first shown growning up in a negative environment, without love, which affects how she grows up. Third, we see a rewind of the baby's life and what happened when her mother got married and raised her in a positive environment! AWESOME video!!!
-
I think the song is talking about how a mother started with searching for love and she got pregnant and was going to abort the baby but chose to keep the baby and in return the baby never had a male role model in her life to teach her the right way to love a boy/man as for her father was in jail (at the beginning of the video). Growing up without her father she looked for love in all the wrong places, she is a dancer and prostitue and ends up get aids/hiv.. They then rewind her life and the negative decisions and start from the beginning of when her father went to jail and her mom moves in with her grandmother and she makes the positive decisions and goes far in live and in the end her blood test comes back that she's pregnant!

i think this song is about a girl that's had her heart broken by a man that's treated her bad and she loved him but as her heart had been broken once she didn't want it to happen again so she walks around insecure like she has never had a love. -
This song is me. I when out with a lot of crooks they tried to get me to love them back but because of all the Abuse and mean things said and done you don't love.. I never really loved any because they were criminals.
When he is saying you had a lot of moment that didn't last forever he means money and drugs.... you always have a good time with money and drugs... but crooks money and drugs don't last forever they go to jail.
Mabye the girl got so messed up on drugs she is sitting in the corner trying to put it together how she got to that place. Being abused and with criminals makes you insecure and they put you down even thought girls that end up with guys like that are the most beautiful. but so damaged from all the abuse. She saw the world and how horrible it can be and gave up on her dreams. So she went down the wrong path. its sad because it happens. -
well i think that this song is all about a girl who has been hurt quite a number of times and just feels bad about herself and doesn't think that the world sees her the way they should cause she feels worthless and unloved.now lil wayne comes to the rescue and lets the girl know that she is beautiful and she just deserves the bestest.

If you see the music video, I think he is talking about a girl who has had a hard life, with one bad decision leading to another and so on. A girl lives in a bad home with unfortunate circumstances, such as having a teenaged mom, and she never really learns what loves is or it's importance, because so many figures in her life place little value on it. The girl grows up to be a stripper/prostitute, because she has followed in the "stereotypical" outcome that everyone has planned for her. He want her to know that she can always change and that she still deserves a chance like everyone in the world. I'm not a fan of Wayne, but this song earns my respect and has a special place in my heart. For all of you living hard lives, just remember.... YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL!

It's about the lack of respect many women across the globe fall to. It's about the lack of love and guidance from their elders and family which pushes these girls into a situation where they continually get screwed over by all the wrong people because they can't judge the genuine folks from the sick and selfish assholes. They fall into a pattern of mistrust and misjudgement which keeps them down in the gutter and it's because these girls have never known any better. They do what they think are the only things they're good for or know how to use (sex, drugs, lies, drama) to survive. The reason these women fall into the sex trade is because they were always treated as sex objects in the first place. Nobody noticed or respected them for the people that they are.
In the end, due to their lack of awareness and risky behaviour, they are used, abused and end up in the worst case scenario.
If they had seen a different life, a life where she was treated with due respect, taught about her choices and rights, she would have and could have chosen a better life. -
The female is a stripper dancing in a club
-
The song talks about a broken hearted girl who has experienced a poor relationship with a guy. It wasn't true love and perhaps she was just being used. Therefore, now she is unable to trust guys.

He is in jail for beating on the mother of his daughter. He's sitting there thinking about how things could of been different for his daughter if he hadn't of been in jail. He set the wrong example for his daughter to witness growing up. And because the mother of his daughter also set the wrong example by stripping.. the daughter seen all this, and did the same thing herself. When she went to the doctors in the end "her mother looking 'dried up', bad from a rough life. She was told she has HIV. If it would of turned around, and the mother would of met a better man "or him"? as a better person, got married.. and set a good example for her/their daughter.. then she would go to the Doctors in the end and he would tell her she's pregnant. She then thanked her "well dressed/head together Mother" for showing her how to love. That is when I bawl my eyes out..knowing the difference I made for my own daughter.
