Linkin Park: In The End Meaning
Song Released: 2001
In The End Lyrics
One thing I don't know why
It doesn't even matter how hard you try keep that in mind
I designed this rhyme to explain in due time
(All I know)
Time is a valuable thing
Watch it fly by as the pendulum swings...

No matter how much he tried he wasn't appreciated. And you should do for yourself, first. You can never please someone if there not happy with themselves first. Think about it, if we all tried to please everyone, there would be no real happiness for you. People have to find what makes them happy. And with all of the negativity in the world anymore, it is truly hard to be happy the way we should be. I have listened to this song over and over. And it's one of my favorite songs from them. I like them all, but this is my favorite. You can see it in his eyes that no matter how much he smiles, something was definitely going on inside of him that he could not control. And it makes me sad that, if he did try and get help, and in his own way he was expressing what was going on with him and his life through his music. I wish someone could have really helped him because they were so talented and popular and still had years of entertaining ahead of them. They were still young and were awesome. I will miss them preforming for sure. RIP Chester. You will be missed.

The singer grew up and went to school at Greenway high school. My wife dated his older half brother Brian for years. Both his half brother and actual father are or where PHX police officers. I know personally several other people whom he grew up with. His father was a very strict hard man. From what I've been told he also drank. Im not saying he was a drunk but he was a real jerk by all accounts. all Im clear on is he was definately not the favorite child. The brother seemed to be the favorite and obviously followed in dads footsteps. Dad didn't seem particularly proud of Chester or his art or drama and musical talents.(or anything) again think abusive jerk. I posess a wire bind note book with many of his drawings and a few poems from this time. He gave them to my wife lori H. Now its Lori J. She went to barry goldwater few miles north east of Greenway HS. Chester gave away alot of sketches back then. He was a real nice guy. Who's always been reffered to as sincere and friendly but definately had a hard time in fam relationships. @ least according to Amanda and Lori. Few others. So given the family dynamic would bet he's talking of his Father. Could be either or even the Mom who was out of the picture. Ultimately your guess is as good as mine. Then again he could be speaking of a girlfriend. Only he knows. The important thing is hopefully the music inspires you or maybe even helps you. That relating to it makes you feel less alone. I imagine that Chester without the outlet of music drama and art, to express him self positively. Would have had an even worse time and done what many depressed people whom feel worthless or unloved do take Prozac. Or commit sepiku. Who knows. Im just glad he had access to those kinds of H.S. programs that they are now getting rid of. To cut budget. With out them alot of kids will lose out. Not to mention the millions of people that their music could help like chesters music does. . I had a very bad family dynamic. When this song came out it made complete sense to me given what I knew. I related to it very much as well. Instantly. anyways. I love his music. N that's my 2 cents. James J

That one day the world will end and one day yours and everyones accomplishments will be worthless. Even if you had worked forever on it, it will one day mean nothing. In the it doesn't even matter

I see this as someone who
is letting go of their hatred
from an abusive relationship.
They're saying that the person isn't worth their time, and that they didn't win. -
No, madder what we do in our lives "in the end it doesn't even madder" you could be poor, you could be rich. But It all comes down to one question, your answer to this question desides your enteraty, Heaven or hell. "I've putting my trust as far as i can go". Are you a believer, its never to late. God's Real the Bible is true Jesus is alive!!!!

When you put lots of effort cooking something, and you burn it. The lyrics match the song perfectly

In my opinion, In The End is a song about explaining no matter how successful, or how hard you tried to get to wherever you're standing right now, it won't matter to other people. Your friends, family will only want to see you have a good behavior, but greed will change your behavior and people won't recognize you anymore, and have no trust in you if you keep focusing on your greed and not care about your family and friends...

My interpretation of the song is that its about a guy and a girl.in a relationship and he tried really hard to keep of together and it doesn't matter because she still won't believe him anyways that is my thoughts everyone
-
The song was based off the story of Charles Andrew Williams, look him up!

It's about Chester's drug addiction when his parents divorced when he was 11. It talks about how he tried to stop this addiction, but he just couldn't.

It's a great song with good meaning to it.
It talks about not waisting your time on things you dont want to do, for example (not mentioned in the song)
If you have a job and you hate it, go out there and get a job that you can enjoy doing, there's always a job that's made for you out there, you just have to find it.
This song actualy helped me wake up and focus on my priorities.
I hope it does te same for all of you. -
nice interpretations everyone.
but my input is it's about someone who was with someone they loved. they truly loved, they weren't necessarily labeled together because the other one wouldn't reveal they loved them even if they did.
you tried so hard. you got so far. you took a fall for this person to try and spend the rest of your life with them then one day they got up and walked out. no reason, no nothing.
being with someone and not being able to tell them you love them because they won't say it to you is fucked up then when they walk away. that fall you took to try and be with them ended up killing you inside. but guess what it doesn't matter anymore now. you got so far for nothing at all. without even realising how much time you spent trying to be with them.
what it meant to me will eventually be a memory; and it doesn't even matter. -
The only reason I write this interpretation is because a very good interpreter had a low rating on their very accurate interpretation. What the writer of the song is trying to say is that you should take life easy. Don't worry yourself with problems, because it won't matter when you're dead. Nothing will matter. No matter how rich you become, no matter how famous you are, whether you live in luxury or poverty, what you DID doesn't matter. So at least try to make life worthwhile. Take IT easy.
-
to me its just a song about a person who worked hard to build a relationship a buisness or whatever it was that it was so important to them that when they failed they were frustrated and wanted to give up.
-
It doesn't matter what you do if you don't succeed. silver medals don't matter. Your entire life's work has been in vain and it desn't even matter.
