Marina and the Diamonds: Girls Meaning
Girls Lyrics
But I think like a guy
Not ladylike
To behave like a slime
Easy to be sleazy
When you've got a filthy mind
You stick to your yogurts
I'll stick to my apple pie
Girls are not meant to fight dirty
Never look a day past...

1TOP RATED
#1 top rated interpretation:I think its about women rights, gender dismorphia and transgender people. "Look like a girl but i think like a guy" is about women and men sterotypes, suggesting that women are thought of to be innocent, this interpretation also being backed up by "easy to be sleazy when you got a filthy mind".
Remember, this is my oppininon ,please respect it :) have a nice day! -
I think this song may be about gender dysphoria and how she views the stereotypes as stupid? As a non-binary person who transitioned from a girl recently that’s my interpretation! <3
-
I think it means how she doesnt want to fir in to the stereotypical gender normality while also feeling gender dysphoria and being told she had to be feminine because thats how she was born.
-
I think it means that how women stereotypes are stupid and how she doesn’t fit into it. And that’s how people want her to act.
-
It's about how she thinks some of the female stereotypes are true, and she thinks that women as a whole should act better, and talk less about things that don't matter. These include gossiping and counting (eaten) calories.
-
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
