NF: Let You Down Meaning
Song Released: 2017
Let You Down Lyrics
I wish that I could say I'm proud
I'm sorry that I let you down
Let you down
All these voices in my head get loud
I wish that I could shut them out
I'm sorry that I let you down
L-l-let you...
-
I think it is about a boy and his father it's pretty obvious his mom is not there and it's how nf was not raised right probably because his parents were fighting all the time so his dad now sees that he has let his son down and that he can not do anything about it this connects to the real world and how parents are so cought up in fighting that they don't realize that there kids are dieting on the inside about this it's easy to be solved but hard to be fixed
-
Irs about how he thought he was a let down to his abuseive dad
-
It's about letting someone down, your trying to change as a person but you can't and you start doubting yourself and the voice's is your head doubting and you feel like you've let that person down
-
To me it’s about having thoughts that come with a mental illness, like depression or anxiety, that tear apart relationships. But I can see other interpretations as well.
-
It's about how NF's parents get split up. His mom does drugs, and he thinks that he's a let down to her.
-
I can completely relate to nf but the song is about how his mom had a boyfriend who abused him and how his mother died of a drug overdose when he was in high school and had to live with his father and he feels like he would do that to a kid that he might have I doubt he will but it is the real meaning of the song ( basically about his douche of a mom and basically he says he has abandonment issues in the song if you really listen)
-
I think it is about him regretting what he should have done at young age.
-
Receives lots of pressure from his parents and can't cope because whatever he does he can't please them.
-
His father wants him gone because hes a let down
-
this song is obviously about his bad relationship with his parents but there's more to it based on his music video. in the beginning the old man is suppose to represent his father. in the scenes where NF is drowning and trapped in a burning car, his father is just standing there watching him struggle without helping. later on, when the old man sees the hole in the ground he goes over to it revealing a coffin inside with NF. the man is crying and greiving over his dead son. the last part of the video, the man is overlooking the lake where NF was drowning. the camera moves down to his arm and shows a tattoo and in the back a woman calling him nathan. (NF's first name) personally I think after NF died, in the music video, he became the father
-
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
-
I think this song is extremely relatable to any relationship you have with someone. It talks about being done with someone and feeling like a let down but at the same time you don't want to give up
-
He let down that one person he loves
-
Yes hes talking about the relationship with his dad but at thd end the old man is nathan. What his father did to him he's doing to his son. The cycle never ended.
-
His and him struggle in their relationship, and every time tries to make it up he feels like he let him down.
