Song Released: 2015
Drag Me Down Lyrics
I've got fire for a heart
I'm not scared of the dark
You've never seen it look so easy
I got a river for a soul
And baby you're a boat
Baby you're my only reason

This song is all about their fans when the guys had hate we (directioners) stood by them, thorough girlfriends, we stayed,(all my life you stood by me when no one else was ever behind me) Zayn had to be mentioned in there somewhere, as we all know Zayn left the 23 of March to work with naughty boy and they are saying that Zayn or Naughty boy cant drag them down (nobody nobody nobody can drag me down) they love doing what they do more then anything (I've got a fire for a heart im not scared of im not scared of the dark) some of the fans cutting and planned suicide told the boys that they helped them a lot and that if it wasnt for them they wouldn't be here right now (if I didn't have you I'll never see the sun) basically its all about their fans, and how they love them, and with them by their side they can do anything (with your love nobody can drag me down)

I think it's about, even tho 1D had some hate. All along thevfans have stood beside them through thick and thin. They are practically saying the wouldn't have made it this gar without the fans.

I don't really have a personal interpretation for this, but in a recent interview Liam mentioned that the song describes more about the fans rather than a relationship. Assuming that this song is about the fans, it basically talks about how the boys feel bold and safe as they know that they have an entire fanbase behind their backs, and "with [the fans'] love, nobody can drag [them] down." I personally don't feel that there are any particular hidden meanings in the song, but of course there might be different interpretations.
