One Direction: 18 Meaning
18 Lyrics
I got a heart, I got a soul
Believe me, I will use them both
We made a start, being a false one I know
Baby, I don't want to feel alone
Zayn
So kiss me, when I lay down
My hands pressed to your cheeks
A long way from the...

#1 top rated interpretation:I just want to say, everytime harry sings this song. He always looks at lou. One time louis looked at harry while singing his solo. "I have love you since we were 18....long before we both thought the same thing" that verse. He turns to harry. AND WHEN THE FAN SAID "WHAT THE FUCKKK"

#2 top rated interpretation:I will be honest. I truly think this song is about Larry Stylinson. And I don't even ship it. I have been part of this fandom since the beggining, and I recognize stuff when I see it. I'm not even getting into detailed analysis of the verses, because it's so Larry related it's obvious. Bye! :) xx

#3 top rated interpretation:It´s about larry. In a concert in September or August Harry said sixteen instead of eighteen. When they perform this song , they look at each other.

I think this song is about Louis and Harry because Louis met Harry when he was 18 and Harry met Louis when he was 16, also during a concert Louis was singing his part “I loved you since we were 18”. Harry yelled out “16” and they smiled at each other. And also in another concert Louis and Harry would say “I loved HIM since we were 18”.
Princess park is another work for playground and Harry and Louis lived in princess park together and i think they had their first kiss there or maybe said there feelings for each other.
Ed Sheeren is a huge larrie shipper so he probably wrote this song to hint that Louis and Harry are/were a thing.
I believe Larry was a thing they probably we’re together in the past maybe still are together. But we will never know until Louis and Harry say themselves the conspiracy is true and they really do love each other or they say they were something back then but not now, we will never know until they say but what we could do right now is be hopeful and support them no matter what. Hopefully something will happen on the 28 this year of September 28 because that’s when I think Louis and Harry got married or something cuz Ed sheeren once posted on the 28 of September 2013 that his best friends were getting married and Harry’s mom replied “great decision Louis” and Harry replied to them both saying “we don’t need no city hall papers” and that is probably a very special day for them both so maybe they will admit it finally and have been waiting for this year but we don’t know what will happen but I do 100% SURE 18 is about Louis and Harry to me it’s obvious.

I think (and hope) it's about Larry Stylinson. Louis was 18 when he met Harry and Harry was 16. Harry once orrected the text to "I have loved you since we were 16." Also, this song and songs of them both, are connected.
-
I didn't even have to listen to the song more than twice to understand exactly what was going on. Here's my interpretation.
1. I have loved you since we were eighteen-Pretty clear because Louis was eighteen when they met.
2. Hands on your cheeks-Come on, Harry always has to hold Louis' cheeks so he doesn't move. (he's always moving around)
3. Playground - Princess Park? Park? Playground is another word for playground. I knew that one right away. Pretty obvious for me.
I am aware that this could mean something entirely different, but the similarities are just too close to be ignored. I also feel like they're singing it more for each other than just for the sake of singing a nice song. Either way, nice song.

Obviously not about larry. oBviOuSly. I think its about someone telling another person how much they love them and that they always will. Maybe its about having a breakup but then wandering back together because they still love each other. PS I think harry and louis related to the song.

when louis met harry he was 18. notice how louis is the one singing the bridge awe.
when harry met louis he was 16. at a concert during the song, when louis said 18 harry said 16.
ed sheeran wrote this and he is a huge larry shipper.
and when they sing 18 harry and louis always look at each other / sing it to each other. they put their mic stands closer together also.
its so cute dhfkglskjf -
The song interpret that narrator aren't kids anymore rather than adults
As is notes thats - So kiss me where I lay down, my hands pressed to your cheeks. Along way from the playground.
Playground signifies as childhood memories. Since they're now young adults. Playground isn't essential to them anymore. The narrator also realise, of how his/her childhood became one of the importance to his/her life. And should be taken serious. Because once you grow older you're no longer can get back from the past. -
idk. maybe its a Larry stylinson song. who knows! im not a Larry shipper but I support them. and if you say that 18 is about the love they have for each other, its ok! hahahahaha please ignore this

The song is about a couple that is "doing it" for the first time together. The guy is letting the girl know how much, and for how long he has loved her. He thinks back to when they were younger and their feelings for each other were more innocent. Now, he's showing her how he feels from a more mature perspective.

Facs
- Louis was 18 when he met Harry.
- Harry was 16 when he met Louis.
- At one concert, Harry called out "16" instead of 18.
- At another, Louis sang "I have loved HIM since we were 18"
- Sometimes they sang it facing each other. Sometimes they shuffled their mic stands closer together... (awwww)
- This song feels like the 1D equivalent of Too Young, Louis' song.
- It was written by Ed, their close friend who has been known to hint at Larry in the past.
In conclusion, Larry Stylinson.
PS:
I have loved you since we were 18... These arms were made for holding you - 18, 1D
We're still young... don't know where we're going but we know where we belong - SC, Harry
We were too young to know we had everything... Me and you is all I've ever known - TY, Louis
Long way from the playground - 18, 1D
Come so far from Princess Park, I'll always need you in front of me - Habit, Louis
Wherever I go, you bring me home - SC, Harry -
I think that this song is about two people are deeply in love when they were 18. But after a couple years go by things aren't working out so well and they break up. But when this gut starts feeling sad then he thinks about the girl he had loved when they we 18. And how he wanted to be 18 again or go back to that relationship when he was 18.
