One Direction: End of the Day Meaning
End of the Day Lyrics
The roof was pretty windy and she didn't say a word
Party died downstairs, had nothing left to do
Just me, her and the moon
I set you on fire babe
Than down came the lightning on...

1TOP RATED
#1 top rated interpretation:To be completely honest, I think that this song is about loving someone but not being sure that they love you back. It could also be about sharing ones feelings for another and figuring out how to get through it together.
-
2TOP RATED
#2 top rated interpretation:I think its about Telling someone you love them and them not Loving you back. Or breaking up with someone and still loving them. Its great though.

I think it's about staying with love even when it hurts you. Like 'priest thinks it's the devil, my mum thinks it's the flu, but girl it's only you', it makes sense, right?? He's been hurt by the girl to the point where he wanted to die, but he loves her so he stays with her. hurt as in she broke his heart.

I think this song is about choosing to love someone you have real feelings for even if you have to fight for it. It's a letter to the person that L loves, saying to be strong.
I told her that I loved her, just not sure if she heard
The roof was pretty windy and she didn't say a word
Party died downstairs, had nothing left to do
Just me, her and the moon
Even though this person knows he loves them, they want to ignore it and their own feelings for L because it's a love that they have to walk mountains for. After all of the partying, this person is the one L loves through everything.
I set you on fire babe
Than down came the lightning on me
Love can be frightening for sure
When I read this, I thought of Venus and Adonis. Venus said Adonis's eyes set her on fire, she would be dead from the heavenly and the earthly sun if she wasn't immortal. But Venus's love was unrequited - she jumped in and gave all of herself to Adonis even though it can be frightening when you can't be with the one you love.
All I know at the end of the day is you want what you want and you say what you say
And you'll follow your heart even though it'll break
Sometimes
Always take the risk, jump right in, be brave and give everything to the person you love.
All I know at the end of the day is love who you love
There ain't no other way
If there's something I've learnt from a million mistakes
You're the one that I want at the end of the day
At the end of the day
You're the one that I want at the end of the day
After L dated so many people and tried to take his mind off the one he loved, he finally realized this person was "the one" and all of the distractions were mistakes he made.
Sure the night was over, I said it's forever
Twenty minutes later wound up in the hospital
The priest thinks it's the devil
My mum thinks it's the flu
But girl it's only you
The night is a metaphor for their relationship. L and the other person both kind of knew it was over, but L finally realized he should be strong and love the one he was meant to love. He said he'll love them forever, then they broke up with him and L was heartbroken 20 minutes later.
When the sun goes I know that you and me and everything will be alright
And when the city's sleeping, you and I can stay awake and keep on dreaming
You and I can stay awake and keep on dreaming
The night was when they last broke up, but this time, he knows they'll be alright. They'll keep dreaming of a world where they can be together and everyone in the world can have true love.

Okay, here's the deal. Louis wrote this song. As a Larrie, I believe that this is about Louis and Harry's relationship. Not to mention that the song says "All I know at the end of the day is you love who you love, there ain't no other way." And it also says "and you'll follow your heart even though it'll break sometimes. " And the lyrics "If there's something I've learned from a million mistakes, you're the one that I want at the end of the day." And if there's anything we've learned from Louis' songs and Harry's songs and even when they were still in the band together is that they've had a bit of a rocky relationship because of the management and S*mon Cowbell. So in conclusion, this song was written about Larry.
