Good Life Lyrics

Woke up in London yesterday
Found myself in the city near Piccadilly
Don't really know how I got here
I got some pictures on my phone

New names and numbers that I don't know
Address to places like Abbey Road
Day turns to night, night turns to...

I see this song as a great inspiration to live life to the fullest never have any regrets or mistakes hold somebody back. One of my favorite lyrics of the song is "When you're happy like a fool, Let it take you over,When everything is out, You gotta take it in". I think it tells someone to be who you want to be and hold nothing back and be the person that you were meant to be. Also the last part of the song "We are god of stories but please tell me-e-e-e, What there is to complain about. To me personally it opened my eyes and showed me that I am writer of my own story and I shouldn't let petty bullshit ruin my life.. and if I act like a happy fool who doesn't care for what nobody thinks about them then I'm really living a good life..

"Good-Life" by OneRepublic I believe focuses on being the person you want to be and not what others want you to be, because in the song it said "When everything is out, you gotta take it in". I believe it meant that whatever you do, you got to take in the effects of whatever you did so you can take in the feelings expressed. Which leads to the chorus of "Oh, this has gotta be the good life, this has gotta be the good life, this could really be a good life, good life." This song really gave off a lot of feelings, because I never really expressed who I was really. But after this song, I felt like I could do about anything, because its all uplifting and brings a weird feeling in me.

This song is totally about Ryan Tedder's rise to success in the music industry. He has a sweet life, after years of hard work breaking in, and this song celebrates it. It is busy: all the travelling, and friends never know where you are, but when it all comes down to it, you gotta take it in. It passes quick, so enjoy your youth and whatever blessings you receive.

Of course, like all good hits, this song has lyrics that can broadly be applied to anyone at any time. For me, this song pops into my head during those sweet, sweet moments that arise, that I savor. Those are the times when I know that life is beautiful and I am lucky to be alive.

I think of this song showing that you should be the person you want to be and not what others want you to be and do what makes you you and happy and just live the life you want for yourself.

OH THE GOOD LIFE FULL OF FUN SEEMS TO BE THE IDEAL

This line sets up the idea that having a fun life is the ideal - but is it? The word “seems” is key. Might this objective be superficial?

OH THE GOOD LIFE, LETS YOU HIDE ALL THE SADNESS YOU FEEL

Clearly the object of the song is feeling sadness but is hiding it by living the ‘good life’

YOU WON’T REALLY FALL IN LOVE, YOU CANT TAKE THE CHANCE.

The object of the song is merely playing at love, perhaps having shallow romances and never really falling in love for fear of being hurt.

SO PLEASE BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF, DON’T TRY TO FAKE ROMANCE.

This piece of advice to the object of the song, perhaps from some the person has an a failed affair with -(as confirmed by the later lyric “Just remember I still want you”)

IT’S THE GOOD LIFE TO BE FREE AND EXPLORE THE UNKNOWN

It’s a commentary on the life of the object of the song as living a life with no responsibilities ergo ‘free’

LIKE THE HEARTACHES WHEN YOU LEARN YOU MUST FACE THEM ALONE

But living a ‘free life’ leaves one disconnected with no one to depend on come the time of hardships or heartache.

PLEASE REMEMBER I STILL WANT YOU, AND IN CASE YOU WONDER WHY

Finally the singer states directly that he/she loves the object of the son and leaves them with a reminder and a sort of challenge.. that if the object wishes to learn about real love - that one thing that is missing in the ‘free life’ then...

WELL, JUST WAKE UP, KISS THE GOOD LIFE GOODBYE

Here, the text is better served with quotation marks around “THE GOOD LIFE” and we see that the singer has, not quite disdain for the ‘good life’.

This may also be sung to one’s self as regret for not giving up the shallow Pippin-esque ‘good life’ for a more stable more substantial kinds of love or relationship

Perserverance, not settling for to long and just in general challenging yourself to find that good life! The one everyone should have.

I think he is saying that everybody thinks he has the good life, traveling all over and in and out of planes etc, but his friends in LA they don't know he is saying the life he is leading isnt as great as everybody thinks, they think he has the good life

To me it says: does not matter what direction you heading or where you find yourself,or what you did or did not achieve, some people may not know what you went through, but make the best of every moment. You are about to have a good life.

The song is about how any day can be fantastic if you make it that happen that way.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
