Paramore: Conspiracy Meaning
Conspiracy Lyrics
or they will hear us
and they'll find out
why we don't trust them
Speak up dear
'cause I cannot hear you
I need to know
why we don't trust them
Explain to me
this conspiracy against me,...

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

"Please speak softly
or they will hear us
and they'll find out
why we don't trust them"
this portion is about the speaker in a seacrative group (GrpA) that pretends to be oblivious to the untrustful nature of the other group B (GrpB)*Notice that she speaker asks nicely, this may be a sign of her bottom rank within the group.
"Speak up dear
'cause I cannot hear you
I need to know
why we don't trust them"
In this portion the speaker is unaware of the reason why she is distrustful of the other group. She could actually be a part of GrpB and A. She does not show loyalty. In part she's not trustful only because she know why both ( or more parties) are not trustful. * Notice here she commands the person to speak up. in this group she seems to have a higher rank. The use of the word dear, after a command is similar to the way a mother would request something from her child. ex. Could you open the door dear?
"Explain to me
this conspiracy against me, yeah
And tell me how
I lost my power, oh yeah"
This section talks about how one or both of the groups have backstabbed her. She wants to know why she deserved to be betrayed by the people she knows. Her lost power might stem from her leverage she has by being part of both groups. *In the song the singer puts emphasis on the word power, this might be a way of signaling anger, meaning that her power was of great pride and a treasure to her. this is supported by the 1st verse.
Where can I turn
'cause I need something more
Here, im unsure what the speaker needs more of. It might be that she needs more confidence, trust, assurance of a safe place. notice that she doesn't say 'who can I run to?" instead where because she still might only trust herself.
Tell me why I feel so alone
'cause I need to know
to whom do I owe
I've noticed that the speaker is speaking to someone. It might be her inner self, God, or really another person in which she confides to. If it really is another person, that individual could represent truth. after all, she is seeking the truth from this person and him/her is clearly not part of the group/groups against her. Also "to whom do I owe" is her asking which side should she take? again, she is uncertain so she asks a person who is certain.
"I thought
we would make it
because you said
that we'd make it through"
Now, it's unclear weather or not what she referrs to as "make it through" through what? Some of the things that might make sense in the song is the relationship between the speaker and the person. If this is true, then the speaker is making a statement of complete loyalty to this person.
"And when all security fails
will you'd be there
to help me through"
Here the speaker needs to be told that she has a safty net. The "security" could refer to the walls that she had once built to protect herself from the distrusful people in GrpA and/or GrpB. She is not strong enough to protect her feelings and needs this other person.
Now the singer leaves us with a the chourus, this could mean that the speaker never learned the truth and is still wanting to know. Or, it could be a reflective peice in which all of us want to know why things happen to us the way they do. * notice that the song ends with the " How? I lost my power." Again, she was once held in high regards. She had protected herself with a wealth of knowledge from both parties. Somehow, both parties have fund a way to betray her and leave her with nothing and no one except whoever she is talking to. -

I think this song is basically saying from the point of view of a popular girl, that she was at the top and she lost all her power to rumors (true or not) and she's trying to figure out where this conspiracy started, why nobody likes her anymore
