   I feel as the one who’s being sung to, that the song coneys a sense of self pity by the singer.
   He’s in despair for his lost love, but the reality is , it’s too little too late.
   He was culpable for that love being lost to him and now has to endure it.
   If only….

   the meaning of this beautiful song, is that losing the one you love can be heart-breaking. you do whatever you can to build back up your confidence, but when you're in the mourning booth (this can count to losing a living loved one you were in a relationship with) there's really nothing you can do to fix it in this state.

   This song is about a lady I that truly loved "more than the world" itself. Because times got "tough" and the she was not willing to endure "the storm", the grass looked "greener" on the other side. So she took the "easy way" to success and it failed. However, my endurance and determination to "weather" the storm "paid off"! Now I'm with someone new, different, and is determined for us to be together- "no matter what comes!!!
