I think that this song is about a toxic relationship which resembles addiction to heroin.

I actually beleive the song is about a mix of heroin and nostalgia, obviously, but I've also heard that his ex girl used to call Brian her sweet prince, and that she commuted suicide and she wrote on a note to him 'my sweet prince, you are the one'
