Placebo - Taste in Men Meaning

Song Released: 2000
Taste in Men Lyrics
Change your style again
Come back to me awhile
Change your taste in men
It's been this way since Christmas Day
Dazzled, doused in gin
Change your taste in men
Come back to me awhile
Change your style again
Come...
-
This person I wishing his ex, or maybe just a fling, to come back to him. obviously she meant a lot to him but she was perhaps going through a phase at the time which made him an ideal person for a relationship at the time. but now she has moved on, changed her style and he would no longer "fit". maybe because she's one of these people that like to go with current trends an styles and lacks her own! or she was rebelling at the time or something.
anyway he's just asking her to come back to him, if only for a while, to change her taste in men, change her style back so that she would want to be with him. when it says "it's been this way since Christmas day, dazzled, doused in gin", it makes me think either she ended it then, or it being a holiday and a lonely time for a lot of people, it just got him thinking about it (the dazzled bit makes me think it was a quick break, and the doused in gin obviously being drinking, probably to forget/cope). Though it wasn't a fleeting thought (just over Christmas) as he say he's "killing time on valentine's, waiting for the day to end". I would say that he only thinks about her on the holidays, but he says "it's been this way SINCE Christmas day".
Of course it could be a guy. I've just used "she" as I'm straight an it's my interpretation. but Brian being Bi, you never know.
