'Written in Rock', was about a girlfriend I screwed over rather badly. It was that I felt like I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. The whole 'I know I'm not the one' was very much true to me. There's a nod to the Everly Bros. with the 'Bye Bye Love' reference. I love to use historical references as long as I'm not sued for them. It was a very deep song for me. If you write truthfully, people connect. That was one of the truest songs on the album.
