Rihanna: We Found Love Meaning
Song Released: 2011
We Found Love Lyrics
Yellow diamonds in the light
And we're standing side by side
As your shadow crosses mine
What it takes to come alive
It's the way I’m feeling I just can't deny
But I've gotta let it go
We found love in a hopeless place
We...

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

I think this song mean she loves someone so much but she can't really be with that person right now because of the bad timing in their lives and also at the beginning of the song she seems happy so she descibing how wonderful their relationship was before the bad timing occurs and she wants to be with him but she can't for the time being
-
its about the cycle of abuse-at the beginning your so in love-then as the relationship progresses it becomes a push-pull situation-it becomes hopeless although you love them and feel empty without them you have to leave inorder to save yourself.
-
Based on everything, video&lyrics, I feel that she's inlove, with the image of love then she has to deal with addiction in between getting to that image. She's very confused of what to do in her heart but her mind makes all her decisions for her.
-
the song can be interpreted as Rihanna realizing that though he love with this guy is stong and he makes he feel good. She relationship isn't healthy. In the ideo that start of their relationship is happy they're enjoying eachothers company and having fun exploring their youth, going to parties drinking and using different kinds of drugs (pillsP. However, towards the end of the video rihana starts to hit rock bottom. She even throws p in the middle of the street at one point. She finaly follows her head not her hearts and decides to leave him. making their love hopeless

There are lots of ways you can interpret this song, but after seeing the video, i see it as she fell in love with this guy at a rave(that would be a hopeless place). In the video theres pills just falling down, and then a bunch of people dancing. Also it shows someones eye then their pupil going from large to small. By "yellow diamonds in the light" i think that means, when theres really bright lights being flashed at you, you look to where the source of the light is & its makes the shape of a diamond. Also represents happiness, because when your on ecstasy the lights make you happy. Yes thats the very obvious thing to think, but it makes sense. She wants to let go of this love she thinks she found because they were really "messed up" when they met & she thinks its not real. Her emotions are all going crazy & also when on ecstasy emotions are a lot stronger. You seem to fall in love with everything. "Shine a light through an open door" means she thinks theres a chance. In the video, you can see they are bad influences to each other & that makes it even more reason to turn away. Also i completely agree with that the person above me says! Its exactly what i was thinking.

She fell in love with a guy that did drugs. The hopless place was the time in their life when all they did was drugs, and when she was ready to grow up and move on, he wasnt ready, wasnt treating her right. She loved him, but didnt love what he was doing which is why she left him, even though it broke her heart.
-
It seems as though my interpretations are based on the video how they love eachother but wrong timing they both really loved eachother together but when they were together they did drugs they were fucked up "in a hopeless place"and how they get arrested for passing out it wasn't a good relationship they were better off without eachother.

To me this song mean the love she had for Chris Brown. The guy look just like him in the video. And when they had that argument in the car was a react from when they really fought. And she still wants to be with Chris but can't cause they enjoy all the bad things in life too much together. (drinking, smoking, popping pills) and everyone would judge get if she stay with him so it's hopeless. Love (Chris Brown) life( her fame and fans) she has to divde the two.
-
This is how I interpret it, they found love but its hopeless, because the reality of them being together is unreal. She turns away because its the choice of life or love. ("love and life I will divide")
-
Yellow diamonds in the light illustrates how they aren't perfect and have flaws .
-
I believe Rihanna is still in love with Chris Brown and this song is a reflection of that. When she fell in love with him it seemed perfect/flawless, but it turned out to be bad timing. A hopeless time in his life, she needed to let it go, but she can't get over it she still needs him...
-
basically what they found? has no hope although she wants it can't happen because she makes the choice to turn away from it even though they have something real.
-
I say she AND this guy want one another, feel alive with each other but can't because their BOTH taken and she knows she has to walk away from it.
-
The way i see it is she fell in love with someone who's already taken. When he comes near she can feel the love for him and she can't help it but they fell in love in a hopeless place because she can't have him. But she will break apart his life(love and life i will divide) because she loves him more then the other woman does(turn away cause i need you more) meaning turn away from her and realize how my heart feels for you.
