Although it hurts her, she knows she needs him ("i still need you here"). she fails to confront him and even with the pain inside her, she still accepts him for better or for worse.

So she pretends to okay even though she wishes everything would be over. The lyrics are the wife's words to her husband...or her thoughts about him. She knows he is cheating and he is saying that she is crazy for thinking that because he "isn't". However the wife still believes it although they aren't discussing the matter anymore.

I think, in the video, at first glance the woman awaits her husband's departure in orden to hide her failed affair, that's why she cries (she loves the other one). The Man goes in to bar knowing His wife cheated looking for revenge. The clothes the woman burns down aren't her husband's belongings. And you can tell the man's face when coming back home, he looks devastated instead of a victorious encounter, he doesn't want to get home.

How could no one figure this out. The song is about 2 people doing the same thing. Although the video only shows him having an affair, she has done the same. Believe it or not, cheaters are hurt when they find out that they are being cheated on too. Human emotions are crazy like that. And for anyone who's been in love would fully know that your unethical, immoral, careless, and hurting actions such as cheating only make sense when you're doing the cheating; and once you've done it, you expect your other have to forgive you, move on, and not do it to you, crazy, but nothing about love makes sense. The song and music video are quite hard to grasp. My interpretation is this woman knows her husband is cheating on her but she refuses to confront him about it. As you can see in the music video she’s lost control and let everything out before he’s returned home. Confronting him about his infedelity is too painful for her so just leaves him be. This woman feels trapped in her marriage yet she still loves him. Though he’s hurt her, she still loves him. This man is all she knows and loving someone else seems impossible to her. As sad as it is she’ll never leave him, this story doesn’t have a happy ending.

He(Sam smith) showed a man having a perfectly good marriage, and the man breakig it up for someone else secretly, without realizing his wife knew. It showed how heartbreak was eating away at the wife while he was gone, and how everything is alright again when he is at her side, because the deed is done and she silently hopes this will be the last time he does the deed
Her burning his wedding clothes represents the death of their marriage when he cheats with another woman, but her welcoming him back into the house shows that she is so emotionally attached to him, she cant let him go -

Man and his wife have been cheating for a couple of months. Wife knows this and is so unhappy because she loves him so gets drunk, burns his clothes and gets dressed. As he reaches up the path he embraces her but I think she has had enough and walks out. PS did you notice the bruises on her leg at the start me thinks let him go girl.

This song has a very clear story meaning. Whether it's from the perspective of a husband, wife, or gay guy doesn't really matter. I personally think it's from a husband to his wife. The husband talks about having doubts about his wife for a while now about her sleeping with somebody else. A part of him knew the truth all along but he kept denying it. He finally confronts his wife and she says he's crazy (denying it) and he says you don't think I know what you've done. The next part is very poetic. He says "but when you call me baby, I know I'm not the only one" what he's saying is that he's crazy too. Crazy in love with his wife. So crazy that he loves her too much to let her go. "Your heart is unabtanable even though lord knows you have mine" this is a very sad, yet beautiful song. About a man that has a wife that's cheating on him, but he loves her too much to let her go. "I have loved you for many years Maybe I am just not enough You've made me realize my deepest fear By lying and tearing us up"

At the end she gives him a fake hug, he's about to walk in and realize all of his clothes are burned.

In this song, the wife says that the husband doesn't know that she knows he is cheating but what he really doesn't know is that she is cheating too. He doesn't know that he isn't the only man calling her baby.

I interpret this as a married couple, where one of them had their suspicions for months about their spouse cheating, but they kept denying it because they didn't want to believe it. Then the spouse calls them crazy when they get confronted but the other one knows for a fact that they're not the only one (lover).

Without having seen the video I would say a woman cheated and she makes him seem like he's crazy or his suspicions are absurd.. But he already knows the truth.
