Seether: Broken Meaning
Featuring: Amy Lee
Broken Lyrics
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain away
I keep your photograph and I know it serves me well
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain
'Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
And I don't feel...

This is about being completely heartbroken, but still wanting the best for that person........):

This song is amazing! It is about being lonely and missing their heroin (extremely loved one). They wqnt them back desperately.

This song makes me think of a couple that try everything they can to make it work and it just doesn't, so they finally decide to cut their ties and move on to where they can be civil exes rather than a warring couple. Everytime I hear it I'm reminded of something I heard once long ago ... 'I will always love you, but I can never be with you'.

I believe music is an escape for whoever needs it at the time. To me, this song helped me overcome the worst/biggest obstacle i've ever faced...opiate addiction. To me, stealing each others pain was in regards to my thoughts and feelings about my previous herion addiction and experiencing the withdrawl symptoms of a physically as well as emotionally downing substance with someone you love. You don't want the other one to hurt yet ur broken and open and weak.
Just my thoughts :)

From what I was looking at, this is a song about making someone, who is not described nor given a name so others have no clue, happy by "steal [their] pain" away. He is saying how much he feels bad about making someone sad and about how much he misses them. In Amy's part, she is saying how the hard time is over and they can make everyone happy again. This someone is unknown, but it most likely might refer to his daughter he never sees. Although they might refer to each other. This song is one of the most widely thought-provoking songs and remains un-coded.

The video was filmed in a trailer park that was demolished in a meth explosion. They sing about how there was no one left to fight. I feel that its about an addiction, two people fighting an addiction that they were both suffering from, but that they couldn't fight together. The burning scarecrow is an Ecuadorian tradition meant to destroy all the bad things that happened over the last 12 months.

The first time i heard this song i thought it was someone that you loved had passed away like when seether sings:"i keep your photograph, and i know it serves me well".Then it's amy's part:"the worst is over now and we can breath again".This is one of those songs with multiple meanings. But anyways this is the most beautiful and saddest song i've heard in my life i adore it.
-
I think it is to a child about a divorce.
-
i love this song and i think its about couple who are having problems and are reminding themselves of why they need and love eachother...and to the person who said it should b on the twilight soundtrck: plz dnt ruin a good song by associating it with an overpopularized horrible excuse for a book, or series of books i should say...ty

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
-
its about the pain of being in love with someone you can't have because of issues outside of the two people involved.

if u kno anything about seether you would kno broken was written a good year before shaun morgan actually made the duet with amylee, all things considered i believe its about a time of loneliness without the one you love. just thinking of times you have together is just too beautiful to bare being away from them

2 theories:
A deployed soldier talking to his girlfriend, listening to her laugh and holding her when he's home. He's been away a long time and even though the longest part is over-all he has of her now is a photograph
A couple simultaneously dealing with an addiction, one is gone in rehab and the other is used to having them there to help with the pain but their distance is putting strain on their recovery -
I think this song is about how someone who has lost their way and doesn't think they can make it on their own. I almost think that Shaun singing is like he's singing about someone else, and he just merely can see the other person is unhappy. maybe the other person just lost something big in their life (like a family member or deep relationship) and since the person he is singing about realizes that they are not ok when they are alone, but put on a front to other people, and that he would do anything to make the other person better. And when the person realizes that they are not right (normal, happy), they admit the worst is over since they were able to face the reality and can now heal. even if they are missing what they lost. but, its definitely not about a breakup with the party in the song, but maybe even a divorce with their parents and its how they're coping with it.
