#1 top rated interpretation:I think it is simply about him falling in love. He tried for so hard not to fall in love with this girl but he "lost the fight" and his feelings broke through anyways. This is a girl he does not think he is supposed to be with in some way but he loves her anyway.

I think its more, that he is friends with a girl, and he knows if he started to talk to her too frequently he'll catch feelings for her.. he's trying to resist, because he knows it will only hurt in the end.. but no matter how hard he tries to resist, he falls for her, and there's nothing he can do to stop caring.

It's about a guy who likes a girl but she doesn't feel the same. The unrequited love or unrequited limerence really happens in real life. One has to wake up that if it's already a decade, it's totally clear the other person has no love or limerence for you.

to the guy who is experiencing this right now, you have to accept that she moved on to another guy and it didn't work out. if she really is into you like you are to her, then go ahead but it seems the feeling is not mutual. if you are strong, be around her but if it's making your heart more broken then distance yourself from her. but you are still in love with her. just know your limitations because she has moved on. it's really up to you. peace

I think is about a boy that like a girl and she liked him, they try to be something but she starts to like another boy, then they just can't work, she moved on but he stills in love with her, he tried and he is trying, but is hard cause every time she is around he just can't "move on" and pretend that everything is okay...

Maybe it's a fake relationship and He has o stop himself from catching feeling. But he ends up catching feelings and falling hard. Shawn says "it was never up to me" it could've been his manager. (I'm so srry I've re add to many fanfics)

I think this songs about him loving a girl but the girl doesn't feel the same, and she just wants them to be friends, maybe they tried to be more but she didn't feel anything where he does. He has to hide his feelings . he tries to hide his feelings but it gets harder the more he's around her. He can't help but be around her, he tries to stay away but he can't because of the way he feels about her.

I think that this song is about how he is in love with someone that he knows he shouldn't be with. Whether he's with someone else, or it's just not a safe or healthy relationship. The song is saying that they shouldn't be together, but he can't help but fall in love with her.

Although I agree with the first comment on dec 4th. I believe it could also be he is in love with a girl who he knows is unfaithful but can't stop himself as much as he may try.

In my opinion it's about a girl that harmed a boy and the boy doesn't know to fight to be with her or not. Sometimes he tries to stop loving her but he can't so he "lost the fight" and says he is not strong enough to be with her.
