   Basically this song is about how he had to break up with Lauren cuz he sadly had no time while going on tour and taking care of his career, he didnt want to hurt her more later by going to far into their relationship so he decided to break up so that she could find someone better. He did it for only good causes, he didnt want to hurt her too much cause he loved and cared about her.
