Nazi conspirators failed to kill Hitler at his "Wolf's Lair". Hitler had some of the left over insurgents that were caught later strangled by piano wire while it was filmed for his viewing pleasure. Song is basically about Hitler talking to the collaboraters of his botched assination attempt while watching the film of them being tortured with piano wire.

The 1944 plot to killer Hitler. Some of the conspirators were initially shot on the spot. However, once he returned to Berlin he had those conspirators still alive to be executed by hanging them by piano wire from meat hooks. He had it filmed so he could watch it later. He did, then destroyed the film.
