Slayer: Hell Awaits Meaning
Hell Awaits Lyrics
[Welcome back]
Existing on damnation's edge
The priest had never known
To witness such a violent show
Of power overthrown
Angels fighting aimlessly
Still dying by the sword
Our legions killing all in sight
To get...
-
U live by the sword u die by it plan and simple as a human race we do evil things to each other but dont wonna face the back lashed of our actions but we hide behide a savior in order to be save from ourselves this is hell

A hungry maw of televised discord festooning hard-jawed eros speed-dancing the two-step boog-a-loo. Impeccably attired in a selection of Tiger Beat glitter fashions; faded Crawdaddy and circus rags in hand, the dancing clown begins to speak: "Death from above! Death from below! Where is my yes man - I WANT ANOTHER JAR OF BLOW!"

This is a straight forward lyric from Slayer's early satanic, anti-clerical period. At the time a lot was being did and done, in the USA of course, about music acts who were believed to be abad influence on the listeners. For that reason, some politicians' wives with a lot of free time on their hands decided to found the PMRC who singlehandedly managed to persuade the music industry to apply warning stickers on records and cds by musicians with 'explicit' lyrics. Anyway, HA is Slayer's answer to all those religious morons who really believe there's a hell below. This song is a prime example of uncompromising metal from a band who is still as uncompromising now as it was back in '85. Focken Slayer!

I think its about no matter what we do on earth we can't avoid the torture of hell..

It's about falling deeper and deeper and deeper into the pit of Hell, as you suffer from your sins and face the Devil's evil wrath.
-
This song is about the journey of a sinner in hell . His soul will be saved only at the apocalypse when God will judge again the alive and the dead in hell purgatory earth and heaven
