Staind: Everything Changes Meaning
Song Released: 2006
Everything Changes Lyrics
What could I really say?
Would it matter anyway?
Would it change how you feel?
I am the mess you chose
The closet you cannot close,
The devil in you I suppose
'Cause the wounds never heal.
[Chorus:]
But...

My husband and I were going through a very hard time in our relationship and he would play this song in the car. I really didnt listen to it closely until I played it on my headset at the gym. I realized what is was saying. In my opinion it is an apology about mistakes made in a relationship The mess I chose is him saying how messed up he is and that it was going happen. He’s never felt love and so trust wasn’t there forgiving and playing the games to see if it’s real is him testing the love. I can see where one person posted he won’t care if I walked away. Maybe but I see it as the mistake is catastrophic and the love is untrusted and so nothing would matter. There just words anyway.

This song is about the emotional struggle a child deals with when a parent( mother) has turned their back on the responsibilities of raising them.

Personally this song really helped when my boyfriend and I were going through something tough a few months back. I agree with the last poster for the most part about it being mostly and apology. When I heard it, I immediately thought of my fear that I don't matter as much as I thought and that if I left it really wouldn't make a difference and he wouldn't care. I also know that if we stick together, we could do anything. This is a beautiful song about getting past a tough time (personal interpretation) and standing by each other's sides through tough times (toughest part of the day).

It's pretty much a song about tough love. The singer (Aaron Lewis) has made mistakes and is trying to apologize for his actions and wrong doings.
