I can relate to this song as relating to making a major career change, and being unsure of what the future holds but knowing that your current path is destroying who you are and your purpose. It can however have several meanings of making major decisions and facing the fear of the unknown or doing something different. It would be interesting to know the writers thoughts when he wrote the lyrics.
