   This song goes so much deeper than just the lyrics. There's so much hurt and heart break behind this. She's sitting back and remoniscing about what she had last year around christmas time. She remembered all the things they did, the sights, the smells, the feelings, and everything else. You have never felt true lonliness until you've been alone on christmas. I mean yeah you still have your family, but you don't have anything to fill that void. And when all the presents are over and all the meals are gone, you realize what you've lost, and what you realize is most important in this crucial season. And its ... Love. He had been with her for past Christmases, and because it's near Christmas, she can't stop thinking about all the times they shared in the previous years. She knows that she should be happy, because it's almost Christmas, but all she really wants is him back.
